I'm not talking about that, but find me a single, useful, introspective reply to that.
Had tons of good conversations on X from it, only insults here 🤷♂️
Feels like theyve just transplanted laser-eyed Puritanism to Nostr 🥲
You know it doesnt require KYC, right?
How did you buy the Bitcoin you use to Zap?
glad to see the same for you! Have enjoyed your content and engagement in the past for sure.
If we can't have honest, divergent opinions about the state of Nostr without people being abject assholes about it, then my bearishness will 100% prove true.
Being able to openly discuss issues with each other without purely strawman, insulting replies is vital to the success of any project like this, even more so because its success relies on social networks.
Read through the replies to this and enjoy a healthy response to criticism 😅

why do you even follow me lmao
Oof, hopefully that enlightened people... not a fun way to learn 😬
We shall see.
I want it to work out but network effects are hard enough to overcome without the other native issues in Nostr. At worst I hope it remains an alternative for if X gets worse, forces KYC, etc.
Dozens of people mocking me for using X seem to think that Nostr is private 🤷♂️
I’m shamelessly gonna stir the pot and link this nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx : nostr:note1ygx5q3waycfxk9gswrghhfpjkr4r6mlkkekvyhdgep0we0pzuaqs4f5j8g
Pretty sad to see a good friend trying to use my honest opinion to engagement farm on Nostr without even bothering to tag me or message me 🤷♂️
The replies just reinforced my thought that Nostr will die as a niche echo chamber unless something massive changes.
Hilarious that no one on Nostr seems to know that pseudonymity != privacy and yet try to use Nostr being "private" to dunk on anyone who still uses other social media.
You're not going to want to hear this, but Nostr is VERY BAD for privacy, but great for pseudonymity.
For most people, Nostr directly ties their HOME IP ADDRESS to their nym and publishes this correlation to a dozen servers they don't control for all to see.
While being pseudonymous is pretty easy on Nostr, being private requires a good, always-on non-logging VPN, or even better connecting to relays only through Tor at a bare minimum.
If we can't have honest, divergent opinions about the state of Nostr without people being abject assholes about it, then my bearishness will 100% prove true.

In many ways X is *better* for privacy than Nostr but echo chamber doesnt want to discuss that.
As long as they don't KYC or kill the web app it's a useful tool.
Of course! still been lurking off and on but not much.
For sure, just wish there was a tool for posting to BOTH X and Nostr...
So time consuming to post to both and keep up with both.
The rumours of my Nostr account's death are greatly exaggerated 🫡
Just not enough time in the day for multiple social networks and X has been a more useful focus for getting a pro-privacy, pro-freedom tech, pro-freedom money message out to those who need it most.
Glad to see all you freedom-loving folks still pluggin away over here!
there is no KYC requirement, that's just a fun piece of FUD.
All it takes is payment, paid with work CC so not even real name or address involved. if they make it KYC of course I'll abandon and tell everyone else to do the same!
