So far that's the issue I've run into. Either the process was too complicated or the prices were too high even with the savings from not having to convert to fiat.
Any normal daily use stuff. Household items, paper products, cleaners, coffee, anything that can be shipped.
I'll check it out!
Do any of the people seeing this have any wares they sell via BTC or LN? I'm looking for businesses that can help me stop using fiat for purchasing of the things I need.
Nice! I checked out your site before but because of shipping it was too expensive for me to buy. Using zaps would make it much less expensive for me (saves me about 35% in btc-to-fiat conversion tax).
Is it really "losing" something when you don't want it?
Astral seems to be running really slow these days. I suggest trying another client. I'm highly biased to NostrGram (since I'm the dev lol), but snort.social and iris.to are good too.
Even though the chart on the left was too small for me to read the lettering, as soon as I saw it I said, "That must be the national debt" 😆 This is the world we live in right now. 🤡🌍🤦
Fair point. I'll see about adding code so it only pushes changes if a relay setting actually got changed.
Ah yes, that would definitely cause issues. Unless you refresh NostrGram to load your latest list it will write the list you see in the Settings. When you're dealing with a decentralized network like Nostr you have to deal with things like that. So next time refresh NostrGram first, then check Settings to make sure your relay list is correct before updating the Settings.
And yes it's on my to-do list to make some of NostrGram's features more visible to folks. Having some nice pre-loaded backgrounds is a good idea.
I've never heard of NostrGram removing your relays. It loads your latest relays record when you login and only updates the list if you modify it in the Settings dialog. At what point did you lose your list?
I started using CloudFlare yesterday which compresses the images and files and saves a lot of bandwidth, so if you haven't yet tried using NostrGram since yesterday give it another shot and see if it makes a difference.
Remember the other day when I said about 7,000 ⚡s had been sent via Nostr compared to 5k the prior day? Well, um, it's up to 28,709 as of right now. 🤯
1. The GIF search is fixed (thanks for pointing that out). It still had some old code from the previous database and needed updating.
2. Your settings are saved to browser memory and every time you logout it erases it. So if you're logging out every time you use the app that's going to happen, including the 99+ because the settings keep track of when your last notification was received. None of that is stored on Nostr relays. I've been thinking about how to make it more persistent without storing any of your info on the NostrGram server (for privacy I'd prefer it remain in your browser *only*).
3. Are you using the multi-column view? If so, how many columns? The more notes you load on the screen the more CPU it takes to update them (though I greatly optimized that in a recent update). Also, if you filter for audio/video that will eat up a lot more CPU.
I've managed to whittle my NostrGram to-do list down to 43 items lol. The problem is people keep thinking of new great ideas and the list expands as fast as I can knock items off it!
The reality is that malicious code can get embedded in virtually any digital format (including images and videos). Virus protection tools and (mostly) the media viewers built into modern browsers protect against it through pattern matching and sandboxing. But it's better to be safe than sorry.
NostrGram now embeds PDFs. Click the full screen (square) icon on top to open the PDF in a new tab for a full screen experience. You can also download it and open it locally.
Since PDF embedding is now possible, PDFs can now be uploaded via the media upload icon on the note editor the same way you have been able to upload images, audio and video.
