You’re free here. Act like it. Don’t be an Applause Bitch. The most obvious things no one will say are the most important things to say. Getting offended exposes a lack of confidence and conviction on the topic. Run towards offense. If you can’t talk about it, it owns you. There are no exceptions.

PART 3:

Does one buy bitcoin at the price they deserve?…

… or should some be able to buy in at the 2012 price?

Allowing anyone, in anything, to have equal position without equal participation is worse than taxation without representation. IT IS REPRESENTATION WITHOUT TAXATION. IT IS GETTING WITHOUT THE GIVING.

Any system that detaches risk and reward is at best: indentured servitude of one group, for the benefit of the other.

In time such a system inevitably leads to full scale tyranny.

Noted.

I see significantly more important questions being asked outside of freedom tech than on freedom tech.

Sure there are things on here that would get you “nuked” that’s almost anything these days. But most of that is pure shit posting.

Barring the few topics that come with non stop applause, the thoughtful group on Nostr rarely step off of the road most traveled.

I’d love to be wrong. If I am, show me.

2ND CONSIDERATION: Imagine our collective reaction if this video were of a YOUNG WOMEN?

…give it time to sink in…

QUESTION: What is the best way for those who don’t pay the price to participate in a system which delivers maximum benefits with minimum risk?

Naw, it’s big government, and big banks, and big businesses colluding.

You’re not that bad my guy.

Second attempt at this thread due to video upload issues.

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER: If weapons and training aren’t for you?

Too bad. What do you think a VOTE is?

Like it or not you have a GUN in your hand.

Watch this video.. this is what a VOTE has the power to do.

That’s not Odell’s point.

His point is people won’t say what they are not allowed to say here either.

The more significant the system, the more important proof of work is.

Are there systems where proof of work does not have utility?

Peaceful to the degree we are powerful.

Evil power only bends to peace to the extent they fear the consequences of crushing it.

It feels like there's going to be a huge push to spend less time on the internet across society.

The past 20 years have been about moving more of our life onto the internet. The next twenty years will be about bringing more of our life back off the internet.

We're starting to see massive pushback against the use of smartphones and social media by youth (see Jonathan Haidt's new book and Florida's new social media bill.)

Eventually we will start to see more adults disavowing social media and using minimalist phones for wellness purposes. There's a real chance that Apple and Google lose popularity and market share once more people wake up to the detrimental effects of addiction to their products.

Where does that leave #bitcoin and #nostr?

I would classify these internet technologies as "mindful tech" as well as "freedom tech."

Bitcoin is about taking responsibility for your life, the antithesis of the centralized fiat culture. It also frees up your time to do more of what you want to do. After the last 10 years, how much time do we really want to spend on the internet?

Nostr is basically "choose your own adventure" social media without manipulative centralized algorithms. You don't find yourself doom scrolling as much because the platform isn't designed that way. It is much easier to spend a reasonable amount of time on here and then get off and get on with your life.

In short, Bitcoin and Nostr are internet technologies that help us use the internet in a much more conscious, healthy way. Once people realize how much better their lives can be using mindful tech/freedom tech, they will stampede into these communities.

What do you think? Do you see yourself spending more or less time on the internet in the coming years? Do you fins yourself being more mindful using Bitcoin and Nostr?

Mindful tech… I like that.

Maybe you did though…

Attraction > Asking

Relationships are built upon common ground, and on this common ground, we interact within these four categories:

Agree to Disagree

This is where we allow one another to be diverse and different, where we value our fellow man above our supposed correctness. This form of common ground relationship is the root of progress and brings the best out of us all.

Agree to agree.

This is the most basic function of any relationship at any level. It takes nothing special to agree where we already agree. This form of tolerant relationship is also sustainable, though it leaves something to be desired. In this state, humanity is fragile, and tensions rise.

Disagree to agree

When tensions have risen for too long, we arrive here at the cold war of relationship. Where even where we agree, we refuse to connect so that we might progress together. This form of relationship is unsustainable and is usually the staging ground for those jockeying for position to wipe out their opponent.

Forced agreement.

This is where the cold war turns hot. This is where the side that came out on top in the disagree to agree stage expects and demands agreement to their positions. People do not long stand this duress. This form of relationship is pure volatility. This is where match and gas play. When our shared lives take this form, we must watch out for every horror of history to be repeated.

#asknostr Where do we find ourselves today?
