I like a Twitter-style feed with long form text auto-allowed for the people you follow/put in a list. No-crop images remind me of Facebook for some reason, but I can see the appeal of not wanting to tap.
The long game…
The Duality of Money and Memes. ☯️
Memes are a low mental-cost, medium of communication across trust boundaries.
That’s why they are so powerful, like money.
History of money is clear. It doesn’t negate tribes — it allows them to cooperate across boundaries of trust.
Just saying, it’s better to create universal tools any tribes can use rather than attempt to destroy human nature’s affinity for tribes. Independent, free-thought should always be encouraged too of course.
I understand, but fighting human nature by wanting everyone to stop being tribal is futile. It’s the very reason we all exist ~ fundamental to the history of evolution itself. Money was one of the first mediums to operate across tribal boundaries.
Not all tribalism is bad… 🐝
Sometimes the only way to really understand an idea is to talk it out with someone else. You’ll surprise yourself with what you realize after simplifying and crystallizing an idea with your voice, sometimes even before the other person speaks.
“Sweet revelations emerge from cycles of wondering in solitude & casual chitchat (curious back & forth). Casual, not as in small talk, but as in informal… w/o subconscious hierarchical pressure. Convos encourage us to adapt & simplify, where your own response often surprises you.”
Actually the blacklist would get huge. Doesn’t work lmao. Shitty idea
Mining a block is like iterating through bad ideas… eventually you find the answer that makes everything click. 🐝
Moderators “mute-based” blacklisting > Moderators banning
This way an admin can never get too much power.
Yup I agree, mentioned that in this quoted post. Would be nice to have channels without rulers, but the spam gets out of hand and admins banning is just simpler than requiring every user to mute the noise.
Would be a trip if “hashtag channel” moderators could publish their blacklists for each hashtag, that way users could download the blacklist when joining a hashtag channel and effortlessly ignore the spammers like they do in IRC — users could turn off certain blacklists if they feel like a moderator was blacklisting too often.
