Does anyone know why I appear to have lost 20 sats in the cashu app? Adding up all transactions in my history suggests I should have 20 minibits ecash sats, yet there's none there.

I was able to recover them with the seed phrase in minibits, so they should still be in the wallet.

You could print without borrowing.

The government is endebted to the bond market, but the federal reserve/central bank (through quantitative easing or similar) could buy all the bonds with money that is simply created, not borrowed.

That way, the government's debt would be owed to the fed, at which point it could simply be cancelled.

The fed would not have to buy all the debt at once, but could do this in stages. To me, it looks like (and please fact check me if anyone knows) the dips in the graph overlap pretty well with previous QE periods or, as was the case in other crises like covid, the slashing of interest rates (which is abother way of printing money).

No, of course not. But surely we want the currency to circulate. If nation states and large institutions (perhaps even hodlers to some extent) gobble up all the bitcoin, do we not risk there being too little left for it to work?

(Of course, if what does circulate is adopted as a currency, prices would likely be high enough to entice holders to spend. I'm just worried it'll be more difficult to adapt to using it as a currency if most is held for the very long term.)

To me the whole idea of buying or taking over Greenland seems crazy and like it would not be a good thing for the world (open to arguments). Even "purchasing" a democratic takeover seems dodgy to me. The US already exerts a lot of power, and Greenland is open for business, so building bonds that way seems like the better way to go for me, potentially forming a long term partnership as Greenland gains its independence at some point in the future.

Geothermal energy for mining+heating, however, seems like a great fit to me. It could be a great opportunity for companies in the space with a proof of concept on a larger scale as an added bonus.

Paper wallet related question: could I not just write down any 2^256 bit number I can think of to create a private key? If I can, why is this never done? And would I necessarily need software to hash out the public key, or could this also be done offline by hand?
