I consider myself a bitcoin maximalist. I agree with you that bitcoin and crypto have many elements that make them resemble to a cult or religion. Also cripto bros do not help on that. Still, I cannot see any better long term solution for current fiat system problem than bitcoin. When someone shows me one (and proves why is better than bitcoin) then I'll stop being a bitcoin maximalist.
I completely agree with your thought. I have been keeping part of my savings in btc for a while now and trying to search for communities that use lightning for sharing value. The goal is to be ready just in case current debt into the fiat system collapses or just became impossible for regular people like us to have a dignified life.

I was talking from a wholistic point of view. As far I understand most of the universe is quasi-empty space. But I agree that if we consider only barionic matter, our plannet is not so uncommon anymore ;)
And therefore terribly anti-intuitive for creatures programmed by hundreds of thousands of years of evolution to survive in this insignificantly small and uncommon piece of space we call earth.

Tax payment is established by laws. Depending a big number of factors, even with the same income the taxes you pay can be different, all of them within the same laws. If you want to live using bitcoin and you gain directly bitcoin you can avoid paying many taxes that are related to fiat money (again, everything within the law).
That said, with my original reply I was not intending to open a discussion about fiscality and how to manage your money within the extremely messy and confusin fiscal environment of developed countries. I was just trying to explain why, in my case, I prefer getting paid in bitcoins rather than exchange fiat for them.
The difference is that I skip 1 out of 3 steps and a whole bunch of fees and taxes
