SeedSigner lead dev. Bitcoin Core dev (barely). Specter Desktop contributor. python-nostr, rana, NIP-26.

Ha, pretty sure twitter put this in my "For you" trending section because I've tweeted about Nostr NIPs before.

Considering that I'm someone who knows nothing about hip hop culture, that's an amazingly bad algo miss!

Grudgingly agree. Seeing code formatted with Markdown is what pushed me off the fence (you get exactly what you expect with spaces, tabs are subject to presentation variation).

But python's 4 spaces is superior to JS's 2.

I actually got to teach Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance to an AP English class when I was student teaching. Amazing material for those thoughtful kids to engage with.

Each time I've read it I feel like I understand about 80% of it (comprehension starts high and then starts plummeting to the finish). But it just casts a spell and is such an incredible perspective reset.

I think #[0] cursed it. I've gone from never seeing a problem on Github to it being down twice in one week.

Hmm.

High satisfaction / negative income

What does one do with a negative ratio?!

And we'd have to hope that the negative ratio never starts asymptoting toward zero! Or, even bigger oof, crosses into positive.

Numerators and denominators are a mind fuck.

Glass half-numerator: FOSS devs have the highest possible satisfaction-to-income ratio. ❤️😍

Glass half-denominator: FOSS devs have the highest possible satisfaction-to-income ratio. 😭🚫💰

WTF

Everyone is trying to cash in on selling us on our own nostalgia.

You know you're hitting middle age (aka prime consumer target) when things from your childhood are being regurgitated back at you by marketers.

* Pre-load just the Bitcoin app on the Ledger from the factory?

Other than that, you should be able to do everything (dunno about the firmware updates) just through Sparrow w/no Ledger Live.

Wow. Another day, another Github Copilot AI win!

It wrote that entire docstring (the orange text that explains what this class is for) itself. It's perfect. 😍

Missing Costa Rica.

That's like 0.5°C for my non-American friends.

"This is the 8th bug you've tried to commit this week. Your account is now on a 2.79 day vacation block. Please enjoy your mandatory time off. We look forward to seeing you rejuvenated and able to concentrate better soon. Have a good day."

I was trying to do a YOLO push of some untested code I hacked together just in time for my Nostrica demo.

At first I was like, "Wut? Is my code so bad that even my repo is f'ed up now?!"

Github has a lot of services down right now.

I can't push code updates to my repos.

This is just one reason why #[0] wants a decentralized Github.

Got it. My $10/day Verizon Global Travel Pass definitely ain't doin' for that use case.

The last day of #[3] I used up my 512MB of LTE data in the first few hours and was crawling at 2G speeds for rest of that 24hr cycle.

What's the tldr on NotABot? Who's behind it?

I think I get the basic concept (we vouch for each other being real accounts w/some reputational/credibility risk if we endorse a scammer or bot).

Where's it heading? Exclusive relay? Is it just get 5 endorsements, give 5 endorsements?

Is it set up with a 5G or satellite connection?

Pretty sure my productivity would asymptote to zero if I didn't have access to StackOverflow...
