I assume you want them to use Lightning? Definitely Phoenix is the most reliable and it’s non-custodial, so it’s the way to go. but: you first need to open a channel and that makes only sense with an amount of ~100 USD. They can start using custodial Wallet of Satoshi, comes at no cost, but risk bc custodial OR if they don’t have internet: use Machankura8333 a Lightning wallet that can be used on any feature phone.

That someone was me 😃

Bitcoin is not for the faint hearted!

Congratulations to anyone who fuckin spent and replaced and saved their bitcoin over the years and saw the true purpose of non-state, hard money.

FGU > NGU

Freedom go Up is more important.

Number go Up is fucking great too.

For those who haven’t used Bitcoin yet: it’s never too late to (l)earn Bitcoin!

I‘m grateful, humble and honestly also proud about what I’ve accomplished over the last 7 years. To see Bitcoin‘s potential and share the knowledge with as many people as possible.

Bitcoin works in #Namibia too!

Of course why shouldn’t it 😝

On tour with Bitcoin for Fairness and exploring Windhoek today.

I met Alejandro in El Salvador in 2021. A Bitcoiner and critic of how Bitcoin was implemented by the government. He paid the highest price one can pay for his activism against Pres. Bukele and "died" in prison. My article from Dec 2021 about top down adoption of bitcoin in El Salvador was based on my visit in the country and conversations with Alejandro, who had first hand insights on Chivo and the developments around.

would you care to expand upon your last point, in regards to sending sats from Phoenix to on-chain; you mentioned doing so closes the liquidity in Phoenix, so instead you suggested to send somewhere else - sounded like “Bolts.Exchange”?

thanks 🙏 nostr:note14qx50lprtu36jyurmmt9cl6cl0pglmd8659438z598rrtge359uqueu7jy

Yes. What I meant is: if you want to send LN funds from Phoenix to Bitcoin on-chain for long term storage then do not send to a Bitcoin address from within Phoenix as this minimizes your channel liquidity. Instead go to boltz.exchange and create a swap from Lightning to Bitcoin on-chain. This way the size of your channel remains the same.

Recording with Carel van Wyk one of the South African Bitcoin pioneers and builder of the PicknPay Lightning merchant solution.

After this we went to PicknPay, the second largest retailer on the African continent and I bought some things with Lightning. And it went smooth, fast and sound.

I would like to see this everywhere!

Today the first South African Bitcoin only conference is starting. My keynote is at 10:40h.

Yes. I’m in contact with the guy who is the donor/initiator told him about the Geyser campaigns etc. He’s trying to stop them. He will visit Tanzania this year.

One of the team members has been a scholar in my educators program, he’s legit too. Just the social media guy is a scammer.

You’ll need to wait until next week, when I’ll publish the result at Adopting Bitcoin in Cape Town.

A new Tanzanian Bitcoin project has been funded by a legit guy I know from long conversations. He is also a donor to BFF.

Recently he engaged a Tanzanian for help and social media. This guy goes by the name of Greyson, he was scamming someone on our meetup in Zambia. Please do not fund anything for this community as long as things haven’t cleared up. I assume Grey has set up the Geyser campaigns and not the real initiator.

I mean easy to use wallets like that from Fedi…still in beta.

Fedimint is not even launched yet, so no.
