Litecoin used to be “the real-life testnet” of #Bitcoin back in the day. So while the #Lightning technology was meant for Bitcoin, nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n wanted to test it in an environment where real economic incentives existed, while Bitcoin didn’t allow lightning payments yet (UASF that allowed lightning payments happened only a couple of months later).
This is without a doubt an important part of Bitcoin history.

Trade-offs always exist with any solution.

It’s important to not rely on centralized cervices, but Bitcoin Calendar is just in a baby stage (in its current automated iteration), so I prioritized other things for this project to grow.
I believe Coinos will recover *again*. Plus there’s obviously a plan to self host financial interactions in the future.
