๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ First Lesson Dedicated to Bitcoin

On May 18, 2012, the first lesson dedicated to Bitcoin was held in a US elementary school. The teacher was pleasantly surprised by the many valid and often unexpected questions. Children are indeed inclined to approach new topics openly and not prematurely dismiss the information received. Don't let knowledge gained from traditional, state-funded media stop you from studying #Bitcoin as a solution to problems caused by that very state elite!

Excited to announce that Bitcoin Calendar project now runs its own Haven Relay and Blossom Server. This is a huge step towards the project's sovereignty!

Now Bitcoin Calendar depends even less on third party services, while benefitting from the features built into Haven stack โ€“ such as Blastr โ€“ and offered by other Nostr tools, such as Primal's Media Mirrors.

Thank you to those who supported the project so far and please consider supporting and sharing if you haven't yet ๐Ÿ™

All project info can be found at https://bitcoin-calendar.org

Iโ€™m posting all the Bitcoin historical milestones I can find. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll find more events that will bring up positive memories if you give me a follow.

If there are things or sources you can recommend adding to our library or studying, please let me know.

Iโ€™m watching and documenting each and every such milestone ๐Ÿซก

Looking forward to USD-SAT parity.

Litecoin used to be โ€œthe real-life testnetโ€ of #Bitcoin back in the day. So while the #Lightning technology was meant for Bitcoin, nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n wanted to test it in an environment where real economic incentives existed, while Bitcoin didnโ€™t allow lightning payments yet (UASF that allowed lightning payments happened only a couple of months later).

This is without a doubt an important part of Bitcoin history.

Coinos is down right now. Users cannot access funds.

Trade-offs always exist with any solution.

Damn! All of the #zaps I received are there ๐Ÿ˜…

Itโ€™s important to not rely on centralized cervices, but Bitcoin Calendar is just in a baby stage (in its current automated iteration), so I prioritized other things for this project to grow.

I believe Coinos will recover *again*. Plus thereโ€™s obviously a plan to self host financial interactions in the future.

Do you know if we can support or somehow help the project?
