Special reconnaissance

Spoke with someone yesterday about the hamster wheels and their experience of using this framework to debug limiting behaviours.

Actually using the word limiting isn't really doing it justice - they completely sabotage your life and you get Rekt. It's like calling a termite infestation in a house a limitation on the house… doesn't really work right?

It was a great conversation and I guided him a little on spotting the wheels… and then I heard the trap.

He said "I just want to become the best version of myself" I immediately saw the danger in that thought and quickly pointed it out.

Now I know that everyone wants "to become" the best version of themselves but the thought is a script that will run forever - what makes it have that energy to keep going? … "feeling like you are not enough and that best version always needs to be in the future and something you are never going to get or never be satisfied with… it's a trap that will always spin up something to make you think the opposite."

The script is a defence mechanism that feeds off of you to keep you "SAFE".

This is a hard level to be watching, but if you see how dangerous this script is you will at all costs watch out for it. This is elite level work and some people don't want to take responsibility like this, they can go back to playing with self help or spirituality, but if you're serious about changing, then you're in the right place.

This is Special reconnaissance - Recce or recon. In military jargon, reconnaissance is abbreviated to recce (in British, Canadian, Australian English) and to recon (in American English), both derived from the root word reconnoitre / reconnoitering.

Let's get to it.
