I am stoked to try it. What seems to be happening in that valley is an answer to prayer.

I’m excited to find this locally grown, heirloom perennial wheat.

We have a natural sourdough starter running 24/7, and I m regularly baking or pan frying 2-3 day fermented dough.

Knowing for sure nothing weird was used or sprayed is great 👍

Extremism is so hot right now, Vegans and Carnivores, which are two sides of the same coin, are running around force-evangelizing normal people who are just trying to eat naturally and healthy.

I’m going to eat local meat. Im going to eat local caught fish without mercury. I’m going to eat local grains I’ve soaked and fermented. I’m going to eat vegetables I grow. I’m going to eat eggs, and forage wild plants. 🌱

Bite me. I’ll taste better than you anyway.

The guy who started finnriver cidery grew up as a grain farmer. He is doing some really interesting small scale stuff with heirloom grains. They have a mill too.

The finnriver cidery is doing some real stuff. Their tasting room looks cool. They have a farm stand too.

The people who own the farm stand recently bought all the surrounding land and are planning some big long term community garden and farm to table thing.

There is a vibe there on that corner of potential

nostr:npub10000000thpep7auj058803nqtymqlf3rw87lzhe6mkfeywnpxg5sjw7nql some really interesting things going on in Chimicum valley, artisan farm and food wise. It’s still early, but the vibe in that area gets me amped.

If you ever get to the western side of the state, go check out finnriver cidery, farm, and grainery, the chimicum farm store, and some of the small restaurants popping up around there. Every time I go there, I feel electric levels of potential and possibility. It reminds me of Napa valley in the early 90s.

Or in common parlance, Bitcoin in 2010. Early, but you feel that stuff too.

Discovering the insane amount of food and medicine coming from the common overlooked cattail.

I also live on the border of a wetland. 🙂

Discovered yesterday that there are a growing number of artisan farms in a valley not far from us. Some very unique small scale things being grown there. Excited by what is happening ❤️🙂
