It likely to be true for any "property," e.g., for physical strengths, it not great to be weak, say below 5, it's pretty great to be string, 7-8, but super strong, 9+ takes inproportional amount of effort and is simply not worth it. Same goes for apartment cleaning, I like the 7-8 area, but would not really want to do or even live in the sterile 9+.
In IT engineering, like in many other domains, there are better and worse ideas. Some simply require more time to be refined, or are just plain bad. There's also the social aspect to software, since its a community based project.

Remember #nostr is extrimly public, and it's safe to assume that other places are too, BTW: you favorite news website, some useful forum, popular social network.
At the minimum I would review the list of relays that you are connecting. By connecting to a relay you are implicitly trusting the admins that they don't use your IPs.
