So, this is happening... putting my 4th book out to the world! Paperback drops on release date of Oct 9! I've homeschooled all nine of my kiddos and have graduated 4 of them so far. We balance academics with just letting kids enjoy their childhood. I'm hoping and praying this will be a useful and liberating book.

I have. It's fun but a lot of work. If you have the equipment and experience to record, edit, and produce a podcast, it's not as hard to record a book. If you don't, I'm sure there are a lot of tutorials to get you going. It does take time and money. Uploading to Audible is a whole other learning curve.

I wondered the same thing!
It’s been a while since I had a breakfast of #sourdough toast and eggs; I had forgotten how good it can be! Especially when you make toast the way I stumbled upon while camping at #Porcfest one year.
Just like our apartment now, when camping, there is no toaster. But when you pan fry a slice of bread in butter on both sides… especially butter that is also cooking eggs… I am sure that if more people tried this, toaster sales would plummet 😂 it’s so much better!

Is it helpful or annoying (or both) to use a huge amount of hashtags to net your post more visibility?
Like if it’s super-specific to the content, that’s cool. And keeping it on-topic will earn you mad respect (hat-tip to nostr:npub12z8jsett3k6rv9fa2guau5p540qr2xuvjzkr8e432mglafjt99sqkw9zmx and your delightful and tasteful nature/flower posts, for context).
But there are some posts/posters which choose “best hashtags for visibility” … and that’s usually a mute from me. I think one of nostr’s core values is authenticity. That’s why “no delete”. It’s why off-brand hashtags immediately dilute the substance of the post.
It’s why I am so reluctant to repost my own posts, even though I know the environment requires reposts to accommodate the absence of toxic algorithms and a global network across 24 time zones.

Good question! I've tried no hashtags, a few hashtags, a bunch of hashtags... I just want to find my tribe. What annoys me is searching a hashtag that is relevant to me and finding content that has *nothing* to do with that hashtag.
When we bought this property there was a line that marked the land but no fence. By the time we moved in, our neighbor had put in two strands of barbed wire with a couple of "no trespassing" signs. Being that this is the kids' backyard I was pretty discouraged--I don't want my kids running around and bumping into this. Plus it doesn't keep said neighbor's dogs out anyway. But they said No Go to our replacing it, at our cost 😕 So now we'll be putting up a fence in front of this fence. If I was allowed to be snarky I would put up my own "keep out" signs to face them, too! Ugh. Neighbors. Wish you could pick 'em.

Today's daily bread: a sourdough focaccia. I'm usually pretty tired at the end of the day but I'm always glad I got dough started when the next morning shows up. Baking really has become my little bit of peace in the day. Not necessarily the process of baking...but the excuse to get a cup of tea or coffee and have a little something with it. It *makes* me make time to sit down and take a break ☕️

Sometimes I feel SO LOST or I want to totally give up, especially when someone tries to scam me or I read posts from people annoyed with those of us who know close to nothing. BUT then I get *so much* kindness and help (and wow nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev gifted me a bunch of sats yesterday just for WANTING to learn) that it keeps me showing up for one more day, one more hour on the computer to learn. So here I am. Teach me ☕️
