A redeemed šŸ™ and insatiably curious woman on the home front šŸ” Author and clinical herbalist in the PNW 🌲

Just published my introductory podcast for my Substack community. I feel (and sound!) a little rusty from that almost four year long break, but we're looking forward to getting it going again!

I'm very excited for one of my long time blogging friends to not only have made this journey into herbalism with me, but to create a much needed wealth of information especially geared to the Christian community. In this first issue you'll find many great articles! I'm happy to be welcomed into this fold, and am due to be published there beginning with the next issue. If natural healing at all resonates with you, be sure to subscribe and tell Jasmine I sent you! 😊

Good morning, everyone. Well, I'm reading that Damus might go away so I'll have to rethink how I engage here, maybe by my computer or I don't know. That's how tech goes, it's constantly changing.

What's not changing right now: I have a houseful of sleeping children and the kettle is hot. I'm making blueberry puffed pancakes for breakfast, and an egg noodle chili beef soup for our lunch guests (with double chocolate coffee cookies for dessert). So happy I'm not in charge of supper today!

Have a good day and don't forget to have people over now and then. The net can be great for connecting but it's never going to be better than face to face.

Oh wow (starts searching for plane tickets for sunshine...) 😁

Cold, wet and dark in the PNW!

I deleted my IG accounts today. Well, sort of. They'll take like a month to fully delete the accounts. I don't care. Of course they wanted to know why: privacy concerns? Ads? Plus like five other options. They wouldn't let me check ALL of them so I said "something else". You can fill in whatever you think my "something else" encompassed; you'd probably be right and there was so much more than the choices they provided.

It's kinda sad. I really enjoyed it when it was good. I hope Nostr keeps its easy going vibe where I can actually see the accounts I want to follow. I dumped Pinterest and Twitter a lonnnnng time ago so I guess I'm getting good at "buh-bye".

I have only two main online places where people can't find me now: Substack (link up by my bio if you're interested) and Nostr. I'm happy so far with both and hope to keep learning from everyone how I can do better at both.

If you followed me from IG, but time congratulations for figuring it out! If you're here from Nostr, thanks for the welcome and the follow and I hope I can provide something useful to you here.

I have a lot of plans for 2024, but my ultimate hope isn't in my external circumstances. It's a good place to be. I hope you're all at peace, too.

First time uploading a video here (hope it works!) Merry Christmas, everyone. I'm so happy to have met you all and find my internet-social here. Thank you all for the warm welcome and for actually engaging and answering questions. I'm really looking forward to learning more in 2024 and wishing you all a multitude of good mornings and cheering on from my home front ā˜•ļøšŸŽ„šŸ” https://video.nostr.build/16ae0a7310556a34fd05bcd508e3d3813e0f203bce3f1cd04a114dec6995199f.mp4

There are snowflakes, and there are snowflakes. My daughter makes these a little differently but still insists on a proper six sides. Last year she made Narnia ones ā„ļø

I keep thinking about this. We used to keep goats for dairy and I did love them so much. But we prefer cow milk and allll of the cheeses and ferments, not to mention the opportunity to raise a beef cow. My hang up is the amount of milk we would get in a day! We go through in a week what I might get in a single day milking. What do you do with your unused/extra milk? Do you have waste? Raise pigs on it? Or do you only milk once a day and let the calf have the rest? Questions, questions...
