The feathers on our duck were incredibly difficult to remove! We have friends who don't even bother and will just skin the duck instead (which is nuts! losing all that good fat!) Chickens definitely easier, although having a good chicken plucker drum machine gets it done in like 30 seconds. Even that didn't work well for the one and only duck we did. I wonder if it's a breed thing (which doesn't really make sense to me but I dunno)
That is impressive! Ducks are not easy to pluck imo
I hope I linked this right--I found the mug!
Eryn! I can't believe I found it!
Oof, it's been a while. Lemme do a search and see if I can find the info.
Time, light, and heat can all affect the quality of herbs. The one on the right was grown in Egypt (who knows when that was harvested π€·ββοΈ). Varieties can have different color variations as well, but this is supposedly the same as mine. This kind of thing puts a fire in me to plant more more more of my own!
An example of homegrown/dried calendula and store boughten.

where do you recommend a newbie buy?
Good morning βοΈ
First year harvesting has begun!
I'm laughing at my small pan of flowers (lavender, calendula, borage, chamomile) because my first thought was to make a luxurious face cream. And I'm laughing because I was reminded of one of my early posts here on Nostr. It was about making herbal facial cleansers and some guy made a comment about just using water, which made me laugh even then.
Just another difference between men and women! π
I'm guessing everyone can appreciate summer squash and fresh picked peas though π

Happy find of a handful of garlic scapes I missed on the first run.
And! Got my 18yo on with an Exodus wallet after I grilled him about what Bitcoin was and had him explain it to other family members. Now I just have to figure out how to send him some. I have about $19 worth of sats (thank you, Nostriges!!) which maybe sounds like nothing but before I got here I had zero of anything.
But I don't have zero. I now have five kids over the age of 18 who have a clue or two.

My garden started pumping while I was gone. And look what I found growing in one of the beds! Wonder what it is?
we leave ours out, unwashed until we use them. They never last long enough for me to know how long they'd last otherwise, yum. I've never used mineral oil though, interesting.
that sounds way better than flying in a crowded airplane βοΈ
