Cayenne is a wonderful herb to take off the chill, and is great to increase circulation as well.
Here I am adding a touch to a small pot of hot chocolate. Mixed in chocolate, I don't notice it right away, but there is a definite "afterburner" warmth.

So today I notified my son of their “wedding surprise” wallet I setup and how my fellow ₿itcoin friends have contributed to his wedding gift. Here’s his response. I’ll be transferring the sats from this wallet to his nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 wallet on Christmas Day and we will discuss it more. I want to thank everyone that contributed to this gift and the future of my child’s financial freedom. Hopefully this plants the seed of saving in ₿itcoin for the next generation. 🤙🏻🫂

the real gift is in your parenting ❤️
Working the body of my "use up the scraps" winter sweater while watching Rudolph with the kiddos. Such a classic, love it!
Have a lovely Sunday, Nostr friends.
great pic!
I was gonna tell you about throwing tea leaves into scone batter (here also with rose petals and orange zest) and then enjoying it with rose petal jam but instead I'll tell you my son from *across the country!* called in an IO to the net he knows I like to listen to. I was so surprised and happy to hear his voice! 🥰

I can't find him on Nostr. Link pls?
That is a real blessing! I've been learning online and in books but it is a tough way (for me!) to learn about it.
Thinking of winter rest and how everything comes in its due time.

Tea time: crushed sugar and cardamom seed to top banana
bread, a little sparkle and such a great herb for the winter season (I love it in my coffee--no sugar). Like vanilla, though, its cost is crazy high right now, so I'm thankful for the little I have.
Is there a particular herb pr seasoning that you really reach for during the dark season?

awwww, and here I was about to complement you on your holiday avatar
I saw that episode! I can't
imagine (1) not having a stove to cook on and (2) stepping out my door not into the natural world...but to the echoes and buzz of a shopping center. Just no.
That is a gorgeous star 🌟Those tough winter outdoor chores are not for the small hearted or weak willed!
Baking, making, knitting, reading.
Keeping the woodstoves and kettles and soup pots full and hot.
Lots of people coming and going and showing up for jam nights 🎶
and afternoon tea ☕️
Sleeeeeeeping.
You?
Happiest of Thanksgivings. Enjoying a short moment with a sourdough cinnamon roll. What you don't see is two of my kids, one on each side, trying to grab it while I type 😂

I learned from Jackie Clay that pumpkin must be cubed instead of pureed, and that you have to use a pressure canner because pumpkin is a low acid. Water bathing it isn't safe for storage purposes 😕
