Basically people trust the State the same way Bitcoiners trust Bitcoin.

People have put all their trust in the State (it was their Bitcoin, their savings asset, currency, etc) and they'll try everything until nothing works anymore AND are exposed to new ideas, people, tools, etc (i.e Bitcoin, etc).

The change is truly cultural and we're definitely in transition moments. The next 20 years are going to be incredible but we will have to help other people understand what we do. We'll have to be patient, facilitate the integration, etc, etc.

My conclusion is that it's all about moral backbone.

Buddha inspires the way. If we are not attached to comfort, don't have aversion to discomfort, and focus on the real, we can get there.

One of the biggest implications of the fiat system and the overall top-down authoritarian systems being common and implemented everywhere (i.e, the lack of direct democracy culture in the world, I believe Switzerland is the only democracy in the world) is the absolute destruction of trust between people.

Bitcoin (and Nostr!) in essence are tools to rebuild trust between individuals.

Going back memory lane, does anybody remember or noticed how Covid ended with the Ukraine war?

All of a sudden in February/March 2022, Covid silently ends. What changed? TVs stopped focusing on Covid and instead focused on the Ukraine-Russia war.

This shows that most people do live by what the TV tells us. In other words, TV was and still is the main window to reality. People believe and do what mainstream TV tells them to do (especially the newspapers). If the TV is telling us there's a problem then there's a problem.

This decoupling will take decades and there will be many ramifications.

Honestly, this is inherently true to a degree.

We create ourselves through focus and repetition. Buddhism for example is all about that.

Now, it is important that it is true, otherwise it's more of the same. The idea of propaganda is that there's some sense of dogmatism implied.

A very important point that Buddhism teaches is that it's not by attaching very strongly to your identity that you'll change the world.

In other words, middle way is everything. We can find common ground everywhere. Otherwise, it's more of us against them.

And there's no us or them. Bitcoin and really superior ideas work are really superior to that.

Things will take time. Step by step. It will work out.

We need to do something that we absolutely love to do everyday, otherwise we're tyrannizing ourselves.

At least putting a little bit of something that we really enjoy doing into our schedules, daily. At least a little bit.

This is such a great learning. Basically, we need to feel excited about our days!

I really really like the idea/vision of a global free market with very low barriers of trading for everyone.

On that note (and touching 1.):

Another aspect I've been thinking is how Bitcoin is also a very strong social signal. By using it you're already giving out the message that you want a new free market in a non-fiat currency (and a new world by consequence).

And that social signal in itself I think will allow people to trade much more, much more often and with much less barriers. Trading is the essence of progress as we know.

Now technically speaking, Bitcoin will perhaps be shaped (trickled down) in many forms (Lightning, etc, etc, and even Monero if the bridges are made, etc, etc). But Bitcoin would be the basic meme, that everybody would understand and refer to.

Bitcoin is the social signal (the basic meme). But it's the people that will truly create the revolution by trading with each other like never before, achieving much more widespread deflation than ever before.
