For a freer society with free individuals working voluntarily. Developer, technology, business, cooperatives, networker, etc. Based in Portugal. https://linktree.com/citizenpedro #europe #portugal #spain I also like Switzerland and think it has by far one of the most voluntaryist systems in the world. The medium is the message. Long live #nostr. Feel free to send messages :)

Great post and great comment. nostr:npub1v2n2g830p7pzgkrzzk7wyxudfvw87svxyt3dgahrj7xa4vf2edpsscetnt

Another take: Being nice often plays out in discussing mostly Fiat approved topics.

Collectively we are still tip toeing around trying to figure out what to do with free speech online.

Some of us are like those cows when they first see grass. For others this freedom is so foreign and scary they act as a lost dog snapping at the helping hand.

Thank you and likewise good sir!

When it comes to politics I would say Swiss democracy is the best alternative. Switzerland is the freest country in the world, with a tried and tested model.

But yeah for sure we can have and have had great kings too but history has shown that monarchies fail too, and fail often.

The Swiss model has shown to resist and thrive everything. Nazi Germany, the EU, etc, etc. Liechtenstein also has a similar model to Switzerland.

But to each its own, freedom of alternative always :)

Swiss democracy.

Switzerland is the freest country in the world.

I think in 50 to 100 years we're going to look back and see that this phase in history (since 1970 to 2040) had plenty of slavery, it was just much more complex and multi-faceted than before and thus nobody really called it slavery.

I think fiat enslaved a lot of people. It just had a different name.

Bitcoin is going to free a lot of people.

Oh so you've been around? I'm going to be road tripping in Portugal now, will definitely be able to say hello in many places :)

Exactly, I think it's because the pressure is and will always be much less present because there's no censorship.

In other words, if we're already annoyed by whatever happened and we want to share it but then there's this annoying platform that censors us, it's like, why oh why.

I think it just reduces the whole pressure of the whole thing, dramatically, because if you truly get it, you know it's forever. And that changes the mindset.

ahah, yes, got a little bit fundamentally excited there with the fundamentals :D

European Industrial Apocalypse: How Brussels Bureaucracy Crushed Manufacturing

The European manufacturing sector lies in intensive care, a victim of self-destructive policy decisions that have systematically dismantled industrial competitiveness. Latest S&P Global data exposes a brutal economic reality: manufacturing indexes are cratering at unprecedented rates.

Key Devastating Metrics:

- German industrial PMI: 43.0 (Critical contraction zone)

- Eurozone manufacturing index: 45.2 (Deepest decline in years)

- Employment reduction: Sharpest since August 2020

- Price deflation: Fastest decline in 15-year period

The root cause? A perfect storm of bureaucratic overregulation and strategic incompetence. EU sanctions against Russia have been nothing short of economic self-sabotage. By cutting access to cheap Russian energy, Brussels has effectively kneecapped European industry's global competitiveness.

The data screams a harsh truth: Energy costs are the lifeblood of manufacturing. By prioritizing political posturing over economic rationality, EU policymakers have transformed a competitive industrial powerhouse into a relic of former economic glory.

Hyper-complex regulations, green transition mandates, and geopolitical virtue signaling have replaced pragmatic industrial strategy. The result? European manufacturers are being systematically priced out of global markets.

With production volumes, new orders, and employment all in freefall, the EU's regulatory straightjacket has become an economic death sentence.

What do you think will happen?

I would love to have a conversation about this with someone and record it on a podcast somewhere. If anybody is interested please let me know!

Virtue is in the middle way. Buddhism and Greek/Roman philosophy came to the exact same conclusion.

Buddhism identifies that the source of suffering is attachment. But simultaneously it also defines truth has a fundamental value.

Buddha, like the Greek philosophers, define virtue as the middle way between everything.

That's awesome. Great move, one that will be much more common in the future I think.

It's incredible how this sham as endured the time it did.

Thank god for Bitcoin to create a better alternative otherwise people would enslave each other again with chains I think ahah

Good morning Nostr.

The real estate "business" is a scam.

Houses are the most dumb, simple thing we've ever built as humans. They're rocks with a roof. They serve the purpose of providing shelter. They're barely a business and much less the jackpot like endeavour they are today.

They're not a business. And if they really are, then we lost our humanity.

Bitcoin solves this.

More and more people are waking up to this scam. A scam that destroyed the lives of many many many people. Backstabbing, slave like dynamics.

Fuck that shit. Fuck that mentality.

Slavery will end again with Bitcoin.

A question for those of you that can live anywhere.

If you had a region with really affordable houses & apartments to rent & buy (we're talking about hundreds/thousands of houses/apartments to buy under €40k and rents around €400/month), safe, in Europe, a bit cold weather, would you be interested in spending some time in a place like this?

Are you interested in building a Bitcoin community? Would you be interested in stuff like this?

Just curious.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. That's the EU. There are some things that are good. Mostly the technological/market standardizations that allow more efficiency. Stuff like a single plug, voltage for all EU, etc.

But these could all be achieved without the extra very heavy government that is the EU.

The EU is a not good thing for anyone. And this is coming from a Portuguese, Portugal is one of the countries that has received the most amount of money from EU.

This money only served to centralized the inequality and unproductivity. It's a complete mess. There are no free lunches nor shortcuts in an economy. Being poor is the natural state of humanity. There's no problem in being poor. The EU is a disease, like fiat is a disease.

But hey, this is just my opinion :)
