The medium is the message. Long live #nostr. Feel free to send messages :)

Europe will slowly become more Bitcoin friendly.

Czech Republic, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia are now countries that have 0% Bitcoin capital tax rate.

A better Linkedin would allow anonymous and doxxed. Like Reddit.

What about finding freelancers on Nostr in our area?

Isn't anybody interested in using Nostr openess and data to build something like this?

Something like Linkedin but better than Linkedin?

The best solutions seem to usually have multiple facets to it. i.e different people will see different things.

But it seems like the guy (the person that made the original video, the "socialist"), completely rejected Bitcoin. It's shown in the video in the end. ahah

Some people are very closed minded.

People will get it eventually though. I know a person that was very into communist ideals (old school communist) and he gets Bitcoin. The people that are truly deep thinkers and into philosophy get Bitcoin and understand it's more revolutionary than any revolution in the past.

When Bitcoiners are watching socialist videos and agreeing, you know there's something there.

It's really remarkable.

Bitcoin solves such fundamental problems that both the left and right agree with each other. It shows how it's incredibly valuable.

Other countries will be kinder. It's the Sovereign Individual scenario happening globally.

There's no shortage of beauty in the world.

Your wildest dreams can be realized. The world can be as beautiful as you dream.

Ah, yeah, I think you’ve told me about it and we talked a bit about it.

To be honest we all know what the answer to the question is, especially on Nostr, ahah.

It’s like asking if one wants water in the desert. Of course.

An interesting thing is how this became a global phenomena, you know, having millions of people understanding the financial system and having a solution for the problem is incredible and completely new in history.

Should we obey the government?

Bitcoiners, understanding that Bitcoin was a fundamental and necessary shift in society, self-created a culture of stacking Bitcoin in the long term. They called it DCA. They knew Bitcoin was a thing of decades, of centuries, and they knew buying as much as possible, even if its very little, would be a very good thing for them. Thus the "stack sats and stay humble" saying.

This is akin to the early Romans becoming good at cultivating their own poor soil. The more self-sacrificed, orderly people, always win.

When you want to see who the future belongs too, ask yourself who are the most sacrificed and orderly people today.

This chart on the left almost makes me cry to be honest.

Because it validates a lot of the intuitions one has had throughout the last years.

For the last years I've been thinking, this is not normal, there's something wrong with society but I don't know exactly what.

This just perfectly shows it. The world has been in self-destruct mode in the last decade and half and that's what's wrong.

Bitcoin is true meritocracy.

Meritocracy that was missing in the whole word, and especially in some places.

The Tao relaxing on the ropes of the Tao.

Genuine, non-hater discussion topic incoming.

Bitcoiners like to say that Bitcoin is fully uncensorable, that governments can't fully take it down. The problem I see is that even though the *technology* can't be taken down, the means by which people can enter into using said technology can easily be cut off, and not just via KYC. While there's still the peer-to-peer aspect, that also could easily be targeted through surveillance, and unless people start to become fully anonymous (not realistic for most), that's not something you can stop.

On top of that fact, there's a lot of KYCed Bitcoin out there, and the problem with that is that if it's KYCed, it makes it pretty trivial for governments to surveil wallet addresses and transactions.

In this way, wouldn't it be wiser to use a privacy coin if you're okay with KYC? Also, if the legal system ever decides to make it virtually impossible to obtain Bitcoin and you're going to go the route of "privately" obtaining it, then you're not going to get very far if they can surveil all of that information.

To reiterate, I'm not a hater, not by a long shot. Aside from my personal issues with KYC keeping me from buying, I believe in the technology, and I think it's got some serious potential to be the basis for economic change. I'm also not specifically a Monero guy, even though I think that it has some MAJOR benefits. But the problem with Bitcoin's lack of privacy, as well as the fact that KYC is virtually unavoidable, make it hard for me to believe in the maxi opinion that Bitcoin is completely unstoppable. Again, I do agree that the technology itself can't be shut down, but if you can't legally obtain it and you can't truly obtain it privately, then I don't see how it's unstoppable.

Just some thoughts I had. I'm genuinely curious what some of you guys think about this subject.

If Bitcoin wasn’t like this perhaps it would’ve never entered the institutions.

In my view I don't think we can accurately judge the traditions (example, Christianity, Buddhism, Stoicism, different churches) per se and establish a hierarchy there. It's too relative and abstract.

But I do think there's hierarchies of groups of principles within any and all traditions.

In my view, principles are our best bet at creating any sense of understandment. In other words, I do believe some principles are MUCH more important than others, and there we can and should create a hierarchy of principles.

Christianity and Buddhism can be as evil as everything else. Principles > individuals > groups.
