Yes! Let’s make #punchain a thing!
I wanted to get the new F-150, but realized I couldn’t af-ford it
#punchain
If I had a donkey, I would call it Don Quixote (get it?) 🐐
And if it were a Chow, he would be Manu Chow 🇲🇽
What’s Shaka animation?
How do we know what WoS is or isn’t doing with our sats that we keep in their hot wallet?
Bank transfers don’t cost anything if you’re ok with 1-3 day settlement. I’m just thinking like a non-Bitcoiner would about the capability
My understanding is on-platform transfers (Venmo user > Venmo user) are instantaneously credited to the recipient. It’s only if you want to move the funds off-platform to your bank that it takes 1-3 days to settle.
It almost seems to me like Venmo could expand its use cases by integrating with a social media platform (rewarding users for their posts by scanning their Venmo QR code). But maybe there’s something I’m missing about the feasibility of it all
Not CashApp. That’s part of Block. #[5] is majority shareholder among investment firms
True, but is that it? Or would there be other technical limitations? Other than Venmo providing their API to devs
Why couldn’t #zaps be done using a #Venmo QR code? Aside from all the differences between bitcoin and fiat, divisibility, etc. Is it just that Venmo is not an open protocol?
Got a question from a relative about why zaps couldn’t be theoretically done using a Venmo QR code. Aside from all the differences between bitcoin and fiat, how would people respond?
If you’re using Damus, I think you have to pronounce it “nah-struh” as in Nostradamus.
Any suggestions for a dashboard showing # of LN transactions per single Bitcoin transaction? Like a measure of LN’s scale
What is the “cover letters on TPS reports” equivalent of 2023?
I love #Nostr, but let’s not fool ourselves that intermediaries will completely go away. They will hopefully be better intermediaries that provide greater value to both parties, but unless everyone runs their own lightning node, relay, and other parts of the stack, there will still need to be trust in some third-parties.
Not saying this is a bad thing, and I know that a Nostr client like Damus is sooooooo much different and better than Twitter, I’m just pointing it out as something to think about
Not sure. I do wonder about all this traffic routing through WoS instead of people opening up their own channels with each other. What’s the risk there, if any?
I’m confused. How can we all be #nostriches and yet there is only one true #[1], the Nostr ostrich? Seems like an existential crisis to me
At work. Colleague told me about it and I immediately dismissed it as some silly gambling thing. The year was 2010. 😔
Totally agree with you. There’s some outlandish things that some Bitcoiners say, but I’m glad that it’s not just another thing for one “tribe” vs. the other. If it’s going to serve as the global base settlement layer, it has to be truly ideology agnostic.
That being said, I’m not sure that the association with strong libertarian views is a net positive for promoting broader adoption. You shouldn’t have to be anti-government to be a strong believer in Bitcoin
Trudged through the snow and ice to the subway while wearing infant in the ergo carrier only to find out the trains aren’t running, so had to change flight and trudge back home 😭 😭
Yeah exactly. All good. Thanks bud!
Interesting. I am running TestFlight but only see the default option in settings. When I went to zap you it just showed my default amount in WoS
