Yep
Heck I think I read a article and I can't for the life of me find it. But it said something to the effect of human DNA is corrupted more and more with every generation. At the current rate I think their estimates were just a couple hundred years left before the DNA is so bad it won't be able to make offspring anymore.
Kinda makes sense when you see how genetic diseases become more and more prevalent. That and our poisoned food.
Fuck, skynet was the good guy.
In a round about way
Can we skip all the cold and dead/hibernating plants and go straight to spring 😗
My question exactly.
Usually the answer I get is "just to be a good person and try to better the world and enjoy life"
Again we circle back to "but why though" it's literally pointless. You could die this second or you could die 1000years from now and the outcome would be the same.
No one can ever give a satisfactory answer.
Depends on what denomination you ask/adhere to.
Some thing a water baptism is required. I personally find no basis for this.
While I do encourage water baptism, ultimately it's just a physical ritual and outward expression of ones faith.
Acts 2:38
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Clearly the Holy Spirit is given only after baptism. I believe true baptism is a spiritual thing as indicated in the Matthew verse. However, as earlier stated water baptism is encouraged as a proclamation of that faith and rebirth in the presence of witnesses. Though I do not think the water is required.

Why, why did I laugh so hard at that 😂
Yea it's a multifaceted assault no doubt.
This is why I have started trying to use dictionaries like Strong's that will give you the actual meaning of the Hebrew and/or Greek words the Bible was originally composed of. Because I think some of the meaning has been altered over the years as languages change.
Not that Strong's is above the Word by any means, more a supplemental tool to aid in understanding what is being said.
For example if I said "I saved all the people in the land". At the time I mean i saved all the people in my country. It's understood at that time what I meant.
Thousands of years later someone finds it and think I mean all land on the entire earth. Which was not the case. Original meanings need to be understood

I define it as "loving / wanting to be united with God" the relationship between God and Jesus. I received it from listening to good people online, who already had it. Years before I joined the church on paper and went through the physical rituals.
Doesn't matter what I think it is. The Gospels illustrated that you don't have it until you have accepted Jesus and been baptized. This happens over and over as the apostles are converting people "baptized and filled with the Holy spirit" also referred to as the Comforter
Quite a difference between being filled with his Spirit and simply hearing His call.
Every time I stock the Indian section I can't help but think of their nasty river and resolve myself to never try their food
Matthew 21:21 KJV
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
They bought into the "love your enemies" line as also meaning to love God's enemies and all wickedness.
If I really wanted to get schizo about it I have a theory that this stuff really kicked off at the turn of the 20th century when "revivals" erupted all over the place with speaking in tongues and running up and down, hooping and hollering and acting like animals became acceptable in service. This birthed the pentecostal church which then birthed the charismatic which birthed the current NAR.
Every one got more and more into this stuff and claimed all sorts of wild things. Boiled down they are all based on emotion. You go to church get "struck by the spirit" and get an emotional high and then come back Sunday for another high. All this is pushed with rhythmic music to hype you up. Emotional dependency lead to acceptance of emotional appeals from outside the church, i.e. faggots.
I grew up as pentecostal and I felt bad because I never really experienced that "struck" thing. Was I touched emotionally sometimes? Sure, but it was few and far in-between and that generally was during preaching as I reflected on what was done for a wretch such as myself. Anyway back to the point, in some circles you were looked down upon if you never got struck.

So the Holy spirit can actually make some people identify as atheist, as a step away from a cults beliefs towards acknowledging that there is one truth. If a atheist really loves the truth then they love God even though they havent realized yet that it is a person and dont call him God.
That's another problem with gnosticism which is what my OP was directed towards because they claimed gnosticism.
How do you know the voice "revealing things" is God, or some other entity or just you talking to yourself. 🤷 simply as.
Gnostic Christianity makes no sense in that anyone could claim special revelation by God and we see that alot in pentecostal (and their successors) churches. "God told me x but I can't reveal it to you" or "God wants you to know x".
Everything you need is contained in the Word, period. God may "speak" to you, I ain't saying he doesn't. But I believe it's more in a personal capacity and leads to greater edification in His word. That or you feel like you should take a different route to work, low and behold a crash happened on your usual route that you would have been in. That type stuff. Not starting a whole new religion in the case of Joseph Smith and the LDS.
The church is just the body of Christ. Adhering to a single denomination tends to put ones focus on the denomination more than the Body which leads to defending of erroneous teachings. Not always but it is extremely common.
Also to you atheist point. My current stance is this. God's covenant is with Israel, if you are of his flock then his law is written on your heart. Which is why, by enlarge, White people tend to be more morally upright than other races. They are His flock. Now some will reject their shepherd and go the way of the world. The Spirit is given up on acceptance of Christ.
>Well you didn't always believe, wouldn't you say you were guided to Him?
Sure, still different than receiving the Holy Spirit, IMO.
I never got banned, I got put in time out after 5 mins of being on there. I just tailored my wording to where it wouldn't flag and was fine then
