It’s so hard to pick, since I’m a huge animal nerd. I love owls and all kinds of birds and weird or unique animals. Secretary Birds are up there too, and my tag name is inspired by a tiny carnivorousbird called the loggerhead shrike 😎

I guess that’s why they’re always looking so alert when they peek out of their homes! Here’s a quickie for ya. #artstr #digitalart #artist

Okay, here’s a kittypus!! 😉 #artstr #digitalart

I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess horses? 😆 💛

My profile picture, as well as this doodle, were both painted using the acrylic gouache, so you can get an idea of how it looks diluted. I agree that you should use each medium for its strengths, but experimentation is what breeds new discoveries in art (and life)! #gouache #acrylicgouache #acrylagouache 🌻

Thank you so much, do shitters! 😆 💛

I definitely treat gouache more like watercolor as well. I tend to dilute them because I like the painterly watercolor feel with the richness of gouache.

There’s no real rules to art, unless you’re in school I guess, haha… the biggest difference between acrylic-gouache and regular acrylic paints, to me, is its smoothness and flexibility with being mixed, diluted, and its user-friendliness when it comes to experimentation.

It’s a good stepping stone until you feel confident with how gouache feels and will help you learn when to stick with deeper opacity vs diluting, but your mileage may vary 🎨

Here is a full-view of my profile art; I drew this in 2017 or 2018 with Holbein Acryla-gouache and inks.

So far, I’ve only posted my digital art here, but I have a lot of older traditional media (and hopefully some more opportunities to crank out some more traditional media soon)

I’m always happy to take commissions and tips for my art! I particularly love illustrating animals and other natural things 🦋🌞 👽

Looks lovely, definitely fits the gloomy-weather morning commute feeling! You have a great eye for atmospheric detail. Keep up the great work! :)

If you’re struggling with gouache specifically because of its water solubility, Holbein makes acrylic based gouache (lovingly named acryla-gouache) theatre a great stepping stone into gouache ig acrylics are something you feel more comfortable with. Once they dry, the colors won’t lift!

Alternatively, a cheaper option while you learn is to try using a fixative to seal the layers of regular gouache; it definitely might help you get more comfortable with the medium, too!

You’d probably find Theosophy particularly intriguing; the short of it is basically that theosophists can be of any faith (or lack thereof) but tend to apply the principles of many various belief systems and practices (particularly eastern). I quite like the idea of blending theology with philosophy, personally!

Camus is a great author. Huge fan of absurdism in the face of ontological or existential challenges. Economically it’s been the best mindset for me with the recent world chaos and subsequent ennui & existential dread, haha.

Diving deep into rationality and absurdism in equal measures has been a very fun way to explore reality. Like you said, seeking truth with a lowercase “t” has led to a more abundant experience! :)

It doesn’t matter what you decide to attribute this opossum’s emotions… we can probably all agree that things are certainly weird out there!

I hope my art brings a smile to your faces 👽🐦

Todays doodle… a very unpleasant “onion ogre” for ya. 🐸

I’m always happy to talk existentialism! I’ve been going through life observing parallels to a lot of parables and allegories… like the allegory of the cave and the story of Sisyphus. Finding ways to relate it to real, current life is very intriguing! Any particular topic you’d like to explore?
