I love that the value of NGU porn and Twitter bitcoin noise on Nostr is next to none. You have to actually have a personality, be a builder, or have something interesting to say!

Funny you ask, I fell off the wagon pretty hard there. Businesses and life got busy.

Started carnivore in late April and am down 10 pounds since then and am now at 244 this morning.

I was thinking of picking back up the posts when I’m back to the Feb low (mid 230’s) but we’ll see. No hiding from #proofofwork !

Honored to retain the follow for now, I do not take the responsibility lightly 🫡

Step 1: Have a profitable business

Step 2: Save profits in Bitcoin

Don’t overcomplicate things at first

One of the reasons I love #Nostr is the amount of humility it’s forced on me to admit my lack of knowledge of different subjects.

The only thing better is that most people will take the time to help you understand!

In a magical world where I get everything I need, Floranext with different UX (for business and customer) is essentially what I’m looking for.

Never heard of it, tell me about it

I, admittedly, have not looked into those very deeply to see if those could get me the functionality I’m looking for but I know that I’d have to manually accomplish some back-end tasks like ticket order print out, delivery tracking, and wire order tracking if I went that route.

I’ll look into those on Monday and come back with what I’d be missing.

I don’t mind written tutorials but I have had a harder time following those in the past. Video make it’s easy to copy what you’re doing.

I do run my own node (was running Knots before it was cool) but I haven’t dipped my toe into the lightning node world. I’ve heard of everything you’ve mentioned, but I have no idea what any of them are.

You’re really making me expose my technical inexperience here 😂 max pain for cypherpunks

I have not! I know nothing about that

We use Floranext as our system.

This system houses our website, product listing, price listing, point of sales system (external payment processor, currently using Stripe), wedding/event proposals, charge account listing, delivery tracker, wire orders can link to your account and place orders directly from the site, marketing emails, text confirmations, it can help you create routes for your drivers, it emails customers when their order has been delivered, basically everything.

The current problem is that it does everything so if I wanted to resign our website . . . I can’t because I’d lose everything I just mentioned above along with it.

That sounds like a massive build-out to do all of that from scratch. My issue isn’t any of the things the platform is trying to do, it’s just that UX sucks from the business and the customer perspective. I can list out all the things I want it to do differently, but to my non-coder brain that project sounds large and expensive. Because all the other systems suck, there is potential scalability to other shops but that’s not really my goal. Just might end up being a byproduct.

You might just go gander around my website and you’ll see why I don’t like it. Go through the check out process short of actually buying anything, it also sucks.

or I can’t afford what I want right now

Gotta love the small business life!

You’re hired

At what point in the Information Age do we stop accepting poorly designed systems and bad UX?
