Handyman engineer. I bounce from project to project. I'm often called in to do the finishing touches, bringing 90% complete projects over the finish line. I'm good at making disparate systems talk to each other. * Zaps powered by nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjyg76vulm * On-chain powered by nostr:nprofile1qqsvxq03xdev3uxehjqcdkr5lfzl5vawmcf7vm6ps73m6ghwg8y4k2shaefxp *Always Buy the Dip* #privacy #security #linux #Android #networkengineer #infosec #SimpleX #dogs #cats #pets #cooking

Molly is a client that's based on the Signal client, but has some additional security features. It uses the Signal servers and is fully interoperable with Signal. So, you can talk to Signal users.

Metadata isn't a backdoor. You can't just redefine words when it's convenient. That said, I definitely agree about using Molly as it has some significant security upgrades, including full-time database encryption. Molly is a superior client.

I'll tell ya, I liked her a lot more before she hooked up with Steven Seagal. That really disappointed me.

I've of the best 80s movies, and a John Hughes classic. Man, that guy could do no wrong back in the day.

Not that I'm aware of, and I follow that topic pretty closely. The Signal protocol is the gold standard of messaging encryption, and the whole point is that the encrypted content can only be viewed by the conversation participants. Aside from Signal, the Signal protocol (double-ratchet) is used in many other secure messengers, including SimpleX, and the Nostr-based Keychat. It's fully open source, and has gone through multiple independent security audits. If there was a backdoor, it would have been exposed by now given all the independent eyes that have poured over the code, and the seperate cryptographic audits it has gone through.

I'm going to try to just let it go from now on, but I can't make any promises.

I can't help it. One of the drawbacks of living life on the spectrum. My responses aren't directed at you, but in reference to the sentiment of the meme. I just can't stop myself.

Yeah, I would never invest in that, or recommend it to others. I don't really understand how they operate, and I'd never recommend something that I didn't fully understand myself. It's one thing to experiment with your own money, but quite another to recommend it to someone else.

On I definitely wouldn't go all in without knowing what I was getting into. But that's the you asked. You asked if I would suggest investing in Bitcoin before they understood it. And my answer remains. Yes, I would recommend it. But I'd also teach them and make myself available to answer their questions similar to what I described in my prior response. I wouldn't tell them to sell all their investments and put it all in Bitcoin within the next 24 hours. I'd give them the basics, and help them make their first purchase. And I'd talk about DCA investing, and show them how to make additional purchases when they're ready. And I'd help them learn all about it for as long as they wanted my help.

No, I'm saying they don't have to fully understand what bitcoin is and how it works to understand the basics, and the basics of DCA investing. And if they have someone who does understand who's recommending it, and who can answer their questions as they go, then they can move forward with some basic investing at a level they're comfortable with, and then increase their purchases over time, as they learn more about it, and their comfort level increases.

nostr.band and relay.noswhere.com also have muh search without any of Primal's nonsense.

I think I would. They don't really need to understand it to understand that they should figure out a fixed amount they can afford to invest every payday, or every month, and make regular purchases on a regular schedule. They can learn as they go, but the actual mechanics of DCA, and the process of purchasing is easy and straightforward. Tell them, just keep buying, and don't worry about the price.

I don't know about inflation fans, but it's important to keep in mind that inflation is an intentional characteristic of the dollar. It's purposely an inflationary currency that reflects the intentional inflationary economy. So, it's not as if inflation is some unwanted phenomenon.

A deflationary economy needs to be built if you want a deflationary currency (like bitcoin) to be nation's base currency. That's the point that should be made. Criticizing the inflationary nature of the dollar is like criticizing a Ferrari for performing so poorly off-road. Just as the Ferrari wasn't designed to perform off-road, the dollar wasn't designed to behave as a deflationary currency.

Looks interesting. I'm downloading it now. I'm check it out and see how it compares with Nunchuk.

Assad was a real dick. I hope whatever Russian whore he's tapping has gonorrhea.

I'm following the drone story because I'm a longstanding UFO afficionado, but I'm keeping an arm's length from it because it seems that hysteria has overtaken reason, and people are just making baseless assertions of non-human intelligence. The few concrete reports indicate that commercial drones and conventional aircraft are responsible for at least some of the reports, and we have no way of discerning that from potentially remarkable explanations.

So, at this point I'm taking a wait and see approach. I should note than none of the historical events I consider legitimate even remotely look like this New Jersey situation. I pride myself on approaching the subject with sober, reasonable eyes, and I'm not about to drink the Kool-aid on this situation.

We never know what life is going to throw at us. We never know when we'll get the call that someone we love is no longer with us. And it happens to us all, no matter rich or poor we are, no matter how smart or dull we are. It's a tragedy that will happen to us all many times before our own time comes. Make sure you tell those loved ones just how much you love them, and how lucky you are to have them. And there's no time like the present. Pick up the phone, and let them know. You'll never regret telling them, but you absolutely will regret not telling when that phone call comes. And that regret will stay with you forever. Make the call.
