Effect change anonymously. Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step towards obtaining it. -Thoreau, on Civil Disobedience Experienced policy advisor who promotes open and transparent government and free-market regulatory frameworks.

Sadly Marty, most jurisdictions already have some form of digital identity legislation. And governments will want to control who is identified (e. G. As a Canadian or German or whatever).

In my country the digital id legislation passed but hasn't really commenced yet.

I also heard in Switzerland cantons actually voted against it, but it was still shoved through.

First policy is developed by global bodies, then legislation is passed, and 2-3 years later when all supporting framework is in place then it goes public.

So all these libertarian podcasts using fountain.... Are they just ignorant?

To be fair, most podcasters I know use Apple products.... So I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm using antennapod. Open source and on F-Droid. Doesn't do zaps, but I know it won't share my info

Can I ask a question about fountain.fm ?

First off, you can't login on the website, you need to download an app.

So I go on the site to get an fdroid download link. None exists. Only mainstream playstores supported.

So I search github for a repository, don't find one for the app.

Three red flags so no way I'm supporting it. Yet, its promoted by the bitcoin freedom community..... What am I not getting? #fountain

Is this being poster because of the Roger episode by Tucker? It packs a punch I have to admit, yet I know very was close to faketoshi, hard to see the truth from the spin here for someone who joined bitcoin after blocksize.

Apple has done a great job convincing people it is pro privacy. One or two rulings against FBI and suddenly they leverage their centralized closed source software and hardware and servers to "protect privacy".

Wait, Apple gives you access to its codebase? 100% in my hands means I can revise the code and recompile every app and the OS.

Apple is VERY good at HIDING the fact it spies on its users. I am highly skeptical of any Apple product in terms of privacy.

That would just be a battle of biases to see which bias wins. I don't know that AI can reach any "truth". It's just statistically figuring out which word goes after another, at least in its current form.

Fair. My concern is when entities have sufficient information on us to build a comprehensive psychological profile on us, and then use ai to manipulate our sentiments in ways we can't even comprehend.

One mundane example: my friend uses chatgpt to build a job description. It would have otherwise taken him hours to research qualifications, etc.

I asked him why chatgpt suggested one qualification over another. He had no idea why.

Relying on AI means ai controls subtle elents of our daily lives. Perhaps one certification has more ESG elements in it, and so openAI pushes it over others.

Just saying we have to keep our guards up and prevent ourselves from being lead by the nose for the sake of convenience.

Scary? No?

Not even a little?

Not worried about a centralized database holding your info and building a profile on you?
