Ahhh.....I've been waiting for options like this in Iris since I first started using nostr. Excellent work!
Oh now you're just trying to be a people pleaser π― Anyone would think you came here to provide joy or something.
I like to say, "You can't miss what you've never had."
Still not powerful enough to curb human stupidity though.
and it's always a robot asking for verification.
People don't deserve free stuff. People smell of cabbage.
I haven't heard of it. As far as I'm concerned, considering we are all stuck to an oblate spheroid that spins on its own *central* axis and that rotates around the *centrefugal* point of a star that's moving in a circular motion around *central* galactic point, I'd say there can be no such thing as a "decentralised social media protocol", as you so crassly and flippantly refer to it. It just wouldn't be provable by science. Yes. Science. It wouldn't even be believable because people don't believe disinformation and they never have.
All I'm saying is that you can't expect to sell elephantidae jewellery to homo sapiens. It would be inappropriate and uncouth to attempt it. That is unless you're saying I have big ears and if you are then poo to you with nobs on.
[and yes it took me 3 hours to write that]
Nice. A few months of usage will soon let us know if it's worth the space on our phones. So many apps are such a waste of data. It's also great that SimpleX is available on F-Droid. That alone lets us know that the dev takes users' freeedoms seriously. Nice one, ava.
Have a lovely day βπ€
The standards look pretty high there. It's good to see NaCL in use for message body encryption but of course the key/secret exchange is also 100% important, and it looks good. I'm no expert but I recognise these protocols. Thanks very much for that. I should've perused the site in more detail myself. I note that device storage for messages isn't encrypted which tells me that this is a work in progress. Some kind of zero-access encryption for device storage would be good. Having said that there will inevitably be the standard app sandboxing and also if you're smart, like yourself, your GrapheneOS will do that for you π₯ππ
Hey I haven't seen this app before as I'm not a big phone user (usual shit - no real security/privacy etc) and I've never been totally happy with any of the E2EE messengers, not even Session with its own decentralised crypto network. Any idea what kind of encryption SimpleX uses and it's potential scalability? - If that's not too nerdy for this here #nostr feed.
You never know - It might be refreshing in a kinda zen way.
My dreams are like Fantasia in 4D. If the future is a dancing mouse on a phosphorescent podium with toy soldiers running around behind it then I am The Prophet.
Never heard of it. We are communicating remotely through our emotions. Our brains are producing this visual for context.
