Yeah, re: uninstalling, we really should have made it more clear. We have now in 6.3.4

DM me here if you don't want to chat on Telegram

Agreed. I hate Telegram too bu its got network effect - moat of our early users/ beta testers were already on there, so we started there. We are going to expand into Matrix soon.

The version you were on had some issues and they've been fixed on the latest 6.3.4

You won't face those issues again.

Since you deleted the app though, all the swap data is also cleared from your device so you need to contact us so we can help you recover. If you prefer any other channel of comms, lmk, we can chat there and I'll help you recover it.

I quickly tested nostr:npub18ull0tdnj9vugtq259k48szg80al44ta7g4fa85nvj3svaq7kt8s9udcl9 wallet to understand the fee structure, since I cannot find any details about them.

I received 5k sats and there was a 60 sats fee (1,2%); another 5k transaction, another 60 sats fee. So I suppose it's the standard incoming fee.

Transaction's details have some interesting data about the fee: Network fee: 47 sats + Boltz swap fee: 13 sats. Here you discover that it's not a typical Lightning wallet, but something more similar to Muun.

So my balance is now 9880 sats.

Then I tried to pay out.

Using the full balance failed since it required a fee of 48 sats (split here too between Network fee and Boltz swap), so I lowered the amount to 9832, but it continued to block the transaction, lamenting insufficient funds, even if the sum seemed fine. I did a couple of tests lowering the amount, and I was able to send a 9800 sats transaction. At the end I saw that the fee was actually higher, 63 sats (0,6%).

So my wallet was left with 17 sats. But I was not able to send them because "Amount below minimum swap limit: 1000 sats".

Final toughts:

- The wallet's UI is polished and well designed

- Receiving fees are quite high; they should be explained in advance

- There is a bug in the display of sending fees (it should at least say “approximately”)

- For someone that already used LN, these references to swap (and related costs) can be really confusing

- So is 1000 sats the minimum possible transaction? Unexpected.

An informative onboarding or a contextual help could be really useful, solving many users' doubts and so alleviating most frustrations.

One more thing: please let the user empty the wallet, or at worst, increase fees in a creative way! Have sats stuck in a (test) wallet is something that generally irritates users.

Update to the latest 6.2.4

All fees related to swaps are accurate in this version. Still maybe a bit of overload on information but its all there and its accurate.

We actually do plan on creating a wizard that will help first time users.

Swaps are non-custodial and funds won't be lost unless you lose your keys. Since you deleted your app the recovery is a bit more involved and you'll have to contact us on Telegram.

We have now added an explicit warning not to delete the app mid swap and in our December release we will have support for boltz's swap restore api, which will help in cases where users lose their phone or by accident delete the app mid swap - this flow requires boltz to share their public key. In a future release we will also have metadata backups which will allow recovery without boltz, where we will help you backup boltz's pubkey as well.

Hey man! We just closed a big round of clean ups on swaps over the weekend to iron out a lot of minor issues in swaps and it should be a much smoother experience going forward.

Unfortunately integrating support in the app hasn't taken priority since we are a small team and focussed on actual wallet features.

Support on Telegram is very prompt. Someone is always there to take care of you round the clock!
