A couple traveling the Panamericana in an expedition truck. Currently in Argentina. If you want to buy us a coffee or a kilometer of diesel when we pass through Central and South America, you can do so here. Any zap for us will be spent at local vendors in Guatemala, El Salvador and any other country where we find people accepting it. Follow us to travel along and we'll post anything we bought over lightning when we’re there. Start here: https://iris.to/post/note1cvhz2czx3znnp3mwp5vaq4d433a05ztz2rwcev0aa42jafsmjndsevf6jm

Frens, I need some hardware suggestions for a full node + lightning node...

We'll soon be flying home for two to three weeks and I intend of using the time to set up a full node when I have 4 stationary walls.. ^^

RaspPis are crazy expensive rn so that doesn't really make sense I believe. I do have an old Pi3 lying around but I think it's only the 1gig RAM model which will be insufficient from my understanding.

I intend on running Umbrel on it, rudimentary Linux skills already aquired but eager to learn more about it and intend on doing so until we're back home (installing ubuntu via VM on Mac rn and got myself some more literature -> suggestions welcome btw).

Will set it up behind an OPNsense FW (hardware recommendations welcome again, was thinking about a Protectli box?) which will be set up in the process as well.

I'm not a coder/developer but a doctor (albeit a pretty geeky one...). So no "self-built server in a 19" rack"-suggestions please... in the future, yes... for now, no. ;)

Thanks Jennifer. 😊 we will… off to some coffee now! 😁

Thank you much! 😊🙏

Waking up on my birthday to #Bitcoin pumping…

It’s like it’s my birthday. 😂

#GM frens and PV! 👋

Aren’t they always? 😂 good thing we’re not based on the US… but we also haven’t required any privacy enhancing method so far. Just interested to learn. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the link, l I’ll give it a listen. 👌

So my thinking may or may not be right. Would there be any increased/decreased risk in comparison to mixers?

I don’t even run a node… yet. 😂 not really possible when you’re living on the road… but I want to learn as much as possible for the future. 👌

I get that if you matched the amount you could guess what the origin was but the counterparty wouldn’t know where the funds came from, would they? From my understanding they only know they are the receiving node and the one prior to it.

And I would believe it to be very hard to match two similar amounts that happen roughly at the same time to eachother, wouldn’t it? I have no idea about chainanalytics tho… 😂
