You may be right about the premine. IDK. But I know that writing a one sentence message into the Genesis block to explain the purpose of bitcoin is not "arbitrary" nor is it the same as stuffing jpegs into the chain.
Basically everyone, myself included, suffers from the Dunning-Kruger effect. Knowing that is the best protection against it.
The message in the genesis block is to prove there was no premine. Plus, the creator is free to be an exception when etching into the chain why it was created.
