2- an "appeal to majority". A common informal fallacy.

It's a great example of narrative control.
Most fail to investigate the lyrics and reasoning for them due to an emotional reaction. Like any catchphrase or moto. The words no longer contain meaning and are placeholders for an ideological Rorschach Test.
Something only certain outsiders like "old punks" most certainly understand.
