Easier said than done when you have opponents using FUD and fiat hand-outs to maintain power and popular support. Nice as it sounds just to cut 80% and then another 80%, in many cases, it just has to be cut by 100%, painfully and messily, and then regrown sparingly. After a few more generations, people forget why big gov't was so bad, and the cycle repeats. Hopefully the necessary infrastructure to support Bitcoin can withstand those turbulent cycles. That should earn broad trust of future generations, whatever wins out.

Clownish as US politicians (and mass media and many voters) are, I imagine UK/France/Germany going full commie before USA falls. Not to say that it can't happen in America, but more things need to happen first (manufactured emergencies, terrorist attacks, etc.) before Americans do the gulag march. Europeans already seem to embrace it. Maybe southern Europe will just go to anarchy rather than totalitarianism, and that anarchy would be an improvement over the status quo.

Nice. Is there a simple map of European countries and weapons banned for open or concealed carry in each place? I'd hate to get sentenced to decades in prison for carrying a stick deemed offensive (in a place where violent criminals are allowed to run free and cause chaos)
