Political violence is already devoid of reason, but the more you watch clips of Charlie Kirk circulating around the more it doesn’t make sense.

He debated fiercely but respectfully. He listened and respected opposing views, but always backed up his views without telling someone their opinion was wrong. To assassinate a man with that character is pure hate and is just evil.

No matter how we are feeling though, we can’t respond to hate with hate. It never works out and only degrades civility even more.

Charlie Kirk wasn’t someone I always agreed with, but the man had no problem debating and talking with those who had differing political opinions. He was doing it the right way, face to face, in a civil manner.

This is beyond reprehensible, and I feel sick for his wife and children.

I joined Twitter late in 2008, and remember trying to get people to signup and explaining why it was worth the effort. Engagement was low, follower counts were low, but the community was tight. You knew if someone was on the platform.
