Why is Bitcoin Valuable?

This is one of my favorite videos from Saylor.

Every other asset—real estate, gold, stocks—can expand in supply as demand increases. If a stock price rises tenfold, the company issues more shares.

Bitcoin is the only asset with a fixed supply.

Modern monetary systems do not respect the laws of energy conservation. Inflation is a leak in the system—when a currency’s supply continuously increases, its value declines.

Bitcoin is the first monetary system that is mathematically and physically conservative. It cannot be printed, inflated, or manipulated, ensuring equal access for everyone.

Throughout history, the civilizations that managed energy most efficiently have prevailed. Bitcoin is concentrated digital energy—an economic steel that preserves, transfers, and holds value over time.

While the U.S. dollar has lost 99% of its purchasing power over the last 100 years, and gold is continuously inflated by bankers and miners, Bitcoin has outperformed nearly every asset. Over the last decade, its average annual appreciation was 176.1%, and in the last five years, it still delivered an impressive 110.9% per year.

A single open, permissionless financial network, where anyone can participate—no banks, no intermediaries. This is the ultimate system of economic fairness.
