A couple thoughts on the OP_RETURN discussion:
• The argument OP_RETURN cap is ineffective and not doing anything and just creates unnecessary debates so remove the cap, is false—it obviously has an impact, like a rock in a stream that creates eddies and different outcomes. Debates and discussions are useful—if you find them useless go elsewhere; you don’t have to participate.
• People with conflicts of interest and vested interests should disclose them, dtste why they desire a certain outcome, state their opinions and remove themselves from the conversation until asked to opine. Let those without conflicts lead the discussion.
• Provide better alternatives when none are available before making changes, for example, make OP_RETURN cap a setting defaulted to the 80, like mempool size (just saying this as an example—better minds can find better alternatives).
