I just noticed this...is Snort intentionally an anagram for Nostr?
Maybe I am just slow on the uptake if this is common knowledge haha
I do think a large part of the negatives that come from social media is the virality and algorithimic feeds that keep people scrolling. It generally takes advantage of some of human behavior's biggest weaknesses. There is an insatiable mindset when it comes to posting and scrolling feeds that I feel social media today takes advantage of and people lose their mindfulness as a result.
Back when social media was really just your circle of friends and that was it, things weren't as bad and Nostr reminds me a lot of that time period. Whether it stays that way will remain to be seen.
The pace of development with all the different Nostr clients is astounding. I find myself switching between them all and continuously changing my go-to client because of all the features being added so quickly.
Haha. All so I can receive 20 satoshi zaps once in a while! 🤣
Just finally got up and running with my own full self-custodian setup and altogether, between my lightning address identifier (satdress), lnbits w/LNURL, a couple subdomains, a few reverse proxies on my web server, updated certificates, etc. ...ya, a lot of steps. 😅
This is where nip05 identifiers help too.
Awesome! Finally got satdress up and running with my lnbits on my own domain and have my own personal lightning address identifier. Fully self-custodial the way it should be. 😎
Just spent most of the evening setting up lnbits and learning about lightning address identifiers. Going to see if I can move my bridged setup to a fully self-hosted one. But first, time for some sleep. GN!
Looks like Snort has bookmarks too. Just noticed that.
Dang. That sucks. I know Iris.to allows you to do a backup of your entire profile in json format and then reupload it if ever needed.

Ha! After reading your comment I just went to search for a how-to to do this and your guide was the first result! Thanks!

We have a bunch of clients now adding in, just within the last 12 hours, notification quality of life features all because of what took place with some of these large threads. These things need to be tested and everything will be better for it.
#[0]
People are pissed off a #[0] and #[1] but if you don't test for chaos, then how would you ever know how the clients and network would handle it? If not now, then when? We need to create as much chaos and stress test the hell out of this thing while we're here.

Your speed of updating is really making me reconsider using the PlayStore version and instead manually maintaining the version directly from Github. Keep up the great work.
Seeing #[0] on Nostr really makes me realize how much Twitter was holding him back from being able to accomplish what he really wanted to accomplish. He really is the real deal when it comes to wanting to pursue more freedom over the internet through things like Nostr and Bitcoin. Very lucky to have someone like him on our side.
Me preparing to check #[0]'s notifications.
"My eyes! The goggles do nothing!"

You could run your own filter relay that hides behind a VPN or other network and pulls down notes from other relays. Then your clients could connect to your personalized filter relay from anywhere and you know your IP and location are private from all the other relays.
Just tell #[3] that a true bitcoiner would've encoded it in Base58. 😉
Look like it might be fake. But even the fact that you could believe it being true is sad enough.

I mean in the sense that this very well could be something Twitter did.

I'm not on iOS, but I do use Iris on the web and I agree, it is a great client.
