I recently noticed some game devs dropping native #Linux versions of their games and choosing to make their #Windows versions #Proton compatible instead.

My Question: Are there any benefits in that from a player's perspective? Like better performance or such? Or is this rather to not have to maintain a separate Linux version because Linux users can use Proton anyway?

🐧 On Linux? Good luck, brave soul.

It’s not just a game launcher—it’s a social network, DRM cop, hardware survey stalker, and chat client nobody asked for… wrapped in Electron and superglued with Python.

Yet we all still bend the knee. Because Steam is both the prison and the warden.

We curse it, we mock it… and then we buy that $2 roguelike we’ll never play.

💡 Moral of the story: Monopolies don’t need to be good—just unavoidable.

Currently I do not use any cryptocurrency, although I likely will at some point.

That said, from what I've seen (on X, on Nostr itself and at least on one other decentralized social media, that one being blockchain-based, unlike Nostr), economical incentives in the context of microblogging seem to promote more negative behaviors than positive ones (those who attempt to maximize earning, be it in through ads or in the form of donations, end up posting things which I, subjectively, like less than those who maximize for "social" incentives, like karma or likes).

For this reason, I generally prefer to avoid attaching an economical device to a microblogging account (such as is a Nostr account). My issue isn't with Bitcoin, Monero, or cryptocurrencies in general, but, rather, with money in general.
