Seems like nostr:npub1u5njm6g5h5cpw4wy8xugu62e5s7f6fnysv0sj0z3a8rengt2zqhsxrldq3 is working on something very similar, did you guys sync up?

I recently shifted my thinking around these complex kind of attestations, it's going to be hard to: (1) implement with good UX to actually make it work, (2) too many different opinions on how to go about it

As an example, bitcoinmints.com is already working today with kind 38000 which is definitely an expression of trust. The WoT implementation you suggest will not take into account these events? Another, if a very trusted friend (because met IRL) heavily zaps someone you don't know, isn't that a form of trust? Third, if someone is listed as "good guest" in kind 827919 for a couchsurfing-type app, isn't that a massive vouch even without signing a NIP-77 event?

Seems to me expressions of trust take very different forms, will be application-specific and therefore we should accept them as such. I'm tending to think that "writes" should be as easy, heterogenous and scattered as possible and the heavy work should be done on "reads", probably via sophisticated algos/DVMs which: (1) return a viable set of evidence to be verified client side, (2) themselves have a reputation

My latest thoughts on web of trust

Updated NIP-77 proposal about Web-of-trust.

https://github.com/lez/nips/blob/master/77.md

It feels clean and simple to me, also extensible, but I would love to hear feedback on that.

100+ users have recommended a #fedimint since

nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg launched its integration yesterday.

Want to add a more detailed review or change your recommendation? Just login to BitcoinMints.com.

Both are using #nostr so your identity and data are the same across apps.

Hey nostr:npub1cd0l3s6qgj0s6690rtkys39mgj5upwxpm4856nhmce0pyqu6xj9qh7xlvx are you behind bitcoinmints.com? Curious about kind 38000, is there a spec/description anywhere?

AltStore is an alternative to the iOS App Store that uses a workaround to install apps (self-signing as a developer)

Tradeoffs are: you need to re-sign installed apps every 7 days from a desktop app (over usb of wifi), you can't install more than 10 apps a week and can't have more than 3 active at the same time.

Tempting to eventually implement something similar for zap.store on iOS, but on the other hand, UX seems like a pain in the butt. Not sure, it might also serve to showcase iOS users the lack of freedom they have.

Imagine an app store where the backend are relays and blossom servers... UNDOWNABLE

can't replace the Apple one just yet, but I've got some ideas πŸ˜„

Not talking about it much because show >> tell, but day by day making progress with the fundamental blocks of the new zap.store. Great things coming up this month!

Well Milei keeps saying that politicians are scum. If he doesn't include himself in that group, it would make him a potential ally of bitcoin

I suppose... just wondering about the tradeoffs here

Release time!

In our biggest update yet, we've completely redesigned the home screen, added a nostr-based profile setup walkthrough, and have finished our initial fedimint integrations by adding a federation discovery & recommendations!

Most lightning wallets these days are what we call "invoice-oriented." We want to go back to the basics to solve what people are really trying to do: paying a person. We've added a new wallet creation flow to make the wallet about you!

The new version of Mutiny now allows you to create a new nostr profile, or import a nostr private key from an existing profile. From there, you can now DM other mutiny & nostr users to send or request money directly from the app. No more copy / pasting invoices!

To double down on social, we've redesigned our home screen to put people first. We now include a row of recent profiles for quick access. We also now have tabs on the home screen for looking at your payment activity, your friend's zap activity on nostr, and your payment requests.

Next up, better fedimint support!

Mutiny has had beta support for the fedimint protocol for a couple of months now. Instead of opening a lightning channel on your first receive, with a minimum of 100k sats, you can get started on a fedimint with just a few sats.

This new update adds a way to discover available fedimints to join. Naturally, the discovery process is powered by an open protocol built on nostr. You can see who recommends a federation, and add it with one click.

You'll automatically receive funds to that fedimint, as long as the amount is smaller than 200,000 sats, and you'll automatically spend out of that fedimint, with a fallback to your regular lightning balance. You can also swap from fedimint to your lightning balance at any time.

Coming up shortly after this release, we'll be adding federated lightning addresses that lock incoming payments to your key, which you may redeem at any point by coming back online. We'll be rolling this out to Mutiny+ users first, stay tuned!

Let us know what you think! We're excited about this new direction and need feedback to help us continue driving forward.

Love it 🀩 Congrats!

I wonder about the privacy implications of social-first... are there things you'd like to improve on that front? nostr:npub1t0nyg64g5vwprva52wlcmt7fkdr07v5dr7s35raq9g0xgc0k4xcsedjgqv

Milei got himself in the dirty game of politics... he stopped the money printer but he can't chainsaw all that he'd like.

This means raising taxes (short term only, apparently) but especially getting more debt to finance deficits. Which means pleasing the idiotic fiat establishment like IMF, FATF and so on.

So unless he's playing 4D chess here, and I'm willing to give him some more time, I'm tempted to say that he go fuck himself.

Especially because he NEVER understood bitcoin. Yes, he superficially does, but he does NOT really understand it. Maslaton, in his own way, does, and tried to orange pill him back in the day but it didn't work. I've always been puzzled with all the bitcoiners cheering on Milei for bitcoin... absolute nonsense.

And for those who compare it with El Salvador... Argentina is nothing like El Salvador, you don't understand.

Ahh nice, thanks for that. I will be making some improvements there soon. I think the root message should be of another kind
