yobo! [you only beak once] i'll try it out and see if i like it ^v^ it's fitting for a gryph like me i think :>
nostr:npub146jgwchwtjqxmsgscwdhjug80rwlm5552jgdmjm4ex4wdpusepns3uxt3c i did for quite a while, and i really enjoyed it! it/its is probably my favorite pronoun set, though it requires a lot of retargeting in the middle of sentences (instead of "yeah i love her, she's going to the store later" people would find themselves going, for example, "yeah i love lucky, it's going to the store later" to avoid ambiguity). it was a lot easier online, and people will still give you flak sometimes about it, which is why i don't tend to push for it IRL any more ;_;
nostr:npub1tlwlcalzte30mktzplyv793xw93yv2zuwqf59l9rtmdx3r4tek9sgkyynt that restructuring thing is one of the potential issues i see with pronouns like it/its... but it might be worth it still! did people irl generally push back about using it?
nostr:npub146jgwchwtjqxmsgscwdhjug80rwlm5552jgdmjm4ex4wdpusepns3uxt3c my secondary pronouns are it/its! I tried using them as my main pronouns before but nobody really used them. Well... maybe one person, heh ^ᗜ^'
Idk if you will find people who will call you by these pronouns. If someone did for me I got a little species euphoria from it, but I'm happy with she/her too tbh. I mean, I call my cats by she/her pronouns too, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
nostr:npub1e4dg9yxwsqanpmwhlx58kvv8ja2txpk7q5md708vfz7uwe47uvys5hdjdd yes.. i know what you mean about some people not using them :v thanks for your thoughts!
nostr:npub1vy968eaj4yah83zw9rzjkprm64pprlzy0ft9p7tn3jt4zvpwa74qeh7wtc if you can find one and just recolor it, that can run you between $2-500. if you want a custom, it can be a few grand. it might be cheaper to find a model you like and rig it yourself ^v^
any creatures :deltatheta: have any experience trying going by it/its?!
ive been eyeing it for a while, i like the inherit inhumanity present in it; you often refer to objects, creatures, and animals as its, but much less often humans. as an animal myself, i like the idea of that!
feel free to dm if you prefer ^v^ just looking to see what people have experienced..
nostr:npub1vy968eaj4yah83zw9rzjkprm64pprlzy0ft9p7tn3jt4zvpwa74qeh7wtc dragon gryphon hybrids are the best... and I'm not just saying that because I'm split halfway down the middle dragon/bird!!
nostr:npub146jgwchwtjqxmsgscwdhjug80rwlm5552jgdmjm4ex4wdpusepns3uxt3c i second this, but that was kinda obvious that even i would suggest it as well, you just where quicker.. X>
nostr:npub1sf95l0fegps3s3dtqm6jjnsh505c6qtwp9r5sttcwq6z5wvqtfhs6mqr2u my radar dish ears pick up all mentions of gryphons....
nostr:npub1kfhllqf6vx5glh479tpq8cj57mkw6euugg7vx90n9tw7ymprc5sq42e2qu gryphons!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nostr:npub1g8pwxpklj5mx0l3fm3672xswp6ff8k0dr897h6trkclnn6au7d6swnzrcp that feather and scale detail is exquisite!! great work
these are all the images of Blue Guy / Blue Gal that exist... anything more is kept in my mind and I wanted to write it down to preserve them both. I hope they are doing well, and I know I love them.
here is a good video for the calls of Steller's Jays, in case you want the audio.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0S3NhhV1js
He would do the harsh call (0:05) before food, and the chittering (0:38) to call Blue Gal over for food. he also had many other calls, being a mimic ^v^
All of this took place in the course of one month, and unfortunately, it was time for me to move out.
I cried saying goodbye to Blue Guy and Blue Gal, leaving out a heaping serving of his favorite nuts (walnuts) and departing, seeing him screech one last time before I went.
I don't know how he's doing, if he's alive, or anything else about him. I know some things absolutely: I love them both, and Blue Guy will always live in my heart. I hope Blue Guy can live on in others hearts as well. Remember: birds are not replaceable clones of eachother, nor a hivemind; each individual is unspeakably beautiful and unique, just as personalitied as you and I.

Getting to watch these birds closely taught me so much about how extremely intelligent corvids can be. Blue Guy would stash the walnuts nearby, and I'd often see him come back and snack on them.
The mated pair would scavenge for worms in the dirt near me as I did my work on a laptop outside on a patio. I truly loved these two birds, and would have done anything for them. I watched them solve problems, have relationship arguments, bicker and beak, and most intimate of all, fly together.

After a while, he was always around. Visiting us a few times a day, and always making a ruckus when he did. Soon, a second Steller's Jay showed up, which I dubbed Blue Gal.
I believe her to be the mated partner of Blue Guy. She had a beak injury which made it hard for her to eat, and Blue Guy always shoved her out of the way of the food dish if she was eating too slowly. I made sure to always leave enough for her to eat. She was more skittish, and never cresty, always cautious and alert, eating and leaving quickly, silently.
Here you can see Blue Gal, then Blue Guy realizing Blue Gal was eating without him and barging in. Guess what nut he picked after looking into the food bowl? That's right, it was a walnut.

He had personality. He always flew near the cabin, screeched an alarm call, waited a few minutes, then flapped to the food dish, usually giving another "I found food" call afterwards.
His crest mirrored his excitement. He had *opinions*. He always ate the walnuts first, then the pecans, then the peanuts. He wasn't very skittish, letting us get very close. Sometimes he would land right next to me, yell at me, then fly away when the food bowl was empty.
Here in the third photo, you can see just how much he wants those pecans, he's got two of them in his beak at once! A corvid (and some other species) behavior I call "stacking"

The most glorious of all, though, was one bird that lived near me, named (by me) Blue Guy. Probably male based of coloration, size, and attitude, I saw him flying around every day. Digging through the leaves for grubs, scavenging any sorts of food left around, and generally being a nuisance. After realizing it was the same bird every day, I started leaving out food for him. And let me tell you: he LOVED the food I left out for him.

Up in the misty mountains west of SF, many different species of wonderful native birds thrive. Corvids of all shapes and sizes too, ravens, crows, and the colorful personalitied Steller's Jay. I had the luck to be spending my time in a somewhat remote cabin during the summer, and got to see many beautiful sights.

I want to share with you all a bird very near to my heart, and his story. A thread about Blue Guy and Blue Gal, a mated pair of Steller's Jay that I met in San Francisco.
This is some of my earliest photography; I bought a camera just to take pictures of this specific bird. I won't be re-editing these shots, as much as I want to, to realistically show what beginner photography looks like.
A🧵, please boost if you enjoy and want to share with others ^v^
