Anytime you trigger Saif you edge the intellectual barycenter in your direction. Brilliant.
Hey cyborg, wondering, what would you say what is the inflection point or the critical point in Hitler’s rise to power in pre-World War II Germany?
“The internet needs this measly one-horse institution if only to have some place where people can come without crawling to Elon”
Private censorship and shakedowns (Elon, Mark, looking at you) are much more dystopian than what the ancaps are afraid of. I wanted to root for Mastodon but it’s just all day of folks dissecting if you’re pronouncing “shibboleth” correctly.
Great, but the exercise was to explain how this description is enforced with CTV, using the pseudo code.

Speaking of security, how many times has Donald Trump been indicted?
Do you happen to know if there is a website which keeps track of which websites don’t salt passwords?
Are you sure it’s not near Mt Hood?
Is packwood lake in the Gifford national forest?

Right but clearly more speech is not the answer for misinformation especially when social media is involved
I am curious what the take is over on this site about deliberate misinformation. Over on the “free-speech“ site there’s a bunch of blue checks getting engagement by claiming that the wildfires have been started by climate change activists. This strikes me as not helpful at all. Is this just collateral epistemic damage?
Born and raised in the US myself never heard of ‘em. Must be a south of Richmond thing.
I find the claim that it eliminates infighting immediately incredulous. When has “just give everybody what they want” ever not led to more infighting? Sure, when it starts with a privacy coin and a large block coin it’s all great, but pretty soon we’re arguing which sidechain are appropriate, and miners are now voting, so lobbyists are appealing or bribing miners to get their project approved, or maybe even a negative PR campaign lobbying to confiscate a rival project’s escrow for some crimes against the ecosystem. More options means more surface area.
Awareness of fudge rounds that’s for sure.
Yes. I’m on the left and I find it a little bit obnoxious how they described this as “right wing.” Unless “fudge rounds” is a racist dog whistle that I’m not aware of, I don’t think this qualifies as right wing and it’s not helpful to get all worked up about a country song. I mean, of course obviously corporate welfare is a much bigger problem, but it’s a SONG not a manifesto.
I suppose I’m reacting to “Socialism sounds good because it is posited as a system where people share more.”
Nobody posits it as a system where people voluntarily share more. I don’t want socialism because I believe that Elon will share more and throw me a few scraps. Socialism sounds good because we will never have to rely on Elon voluntary sharing so that my kids have public schools etc. and yes of course to build the roads.
The post describes sharing as a choice
Drivechain is indeed a breeze for simplicity. If anyone has any doubts, they should go read BIP119 and then go read BIP300.
