I think the most common obstacle I run into is a lack of patience and discipline, not a lack of understanding.
They know bitcoin will go up forever, but they're just not willing to wait. They seek immediate short term pleasure over lasting relief.
Second to that is probably fear due to misunderstanding. They only know enough to be afraid of what they think it is, and are not willing to put in the work to understand it deeper.

The only social safety net I've ever seen work is a local community. Whether that's family, close friends, church, or a village, beyond that people are to far away or to occupied to care. Returning purchasing power to the individual communities will do more to heal the world than all the big charities in the world combined.
