in that case I can't think of a reason to use cashu
That only makes sense if you use someone else's lightning gateway but honestly at that point just use your own lightning node directly imo
I'd like to be clear that the four op codes proposed in LNHANCE includes no new address types and no interference with ANYTHING that is possible right now. It's not like segwit or taproot. It's such a small thing in comparison.
What happened to ZBD Social, the first and only outbox-model-on-the-server Nostr semi-closed-but-actually-open social network platform: https://blog.zbd.gg/what-happened-to-zbd-social/ (I just found this post by chance).
I still think doing something like ZBD Social is a good idea if you want to inject some forms of social component into a closed platform. Much better than trying to create a social network from the complete zero. In the case of ZBD I think the biggest problem was that their service attracts spammers and low-quality people by its very nature, so that poisoned the social aspect of it way too much. Otherwise it would have been the first actual "relay community" of Nostr, writable from the inside, accessible from the outside, and automatically filtered to only have the posts from that community (that turned out to be a community of spammers).
Arguably an integration like ZBD Social was what minds.com should have done when they were interested in Nostr in 2022.
It is also similar to what Ditto should do (and what I thought Ditto was going to do).

ZBD's biggest flaw was focusing only on south america
Sure. I am a fan of LNHANCE.
I think getting rid of headaches like justice transactions is very important for Lightning integrity. I like the idea of non interactive channels where offline nodes can have third parties open channels on a node's behalf. I like payment pools and channel factories. The ability to pre-sign a channel open that broadcasts directly out of a shared UTXO at a certain condition can be extremely powerful. And I also like Vaults to a lesser extent, but can see how it is useful.
It's not so obvious we need to add more op codes on layer 1 in order to get what we need.
For example cryptographers are making progress in homomorphic encryption [1,2] that would open the door to tamper proof scripting.
We're not there yet, but I imagine a scenario where an arbitrary number of people could agree on spending conditions for a UTXO-set (with whatever rules they want), write and encrypt a script that generates its own hidden xpriv using their individual keys, and then now any member of the group could potentially execute the script. The script and its rules could remain private among the interested parties.
It could be capable of generating addresses and signing transactions. Depending on the script it could support unilateral exit based on an input signature. It could improve lightning and wouldn't need anything new on chain.
It's more important to be patient and only make changes that are provably necessary in my humble opinion.

you can build a building with Popsicle sticks but concrete is better
The villain mindset. I like it.
Yeah I can see that. If given the choice between a beer and a nice latte I will choose the latte though. More bars should have coffee options imo
I am a very very casual drinker. I do enjoy the taste of a craft beer so when I have the opportunity with friends, I will generally get a nice craft ale or something. I don't like being drunk, and have never blacked out or gone off the deep end. Any hangovers have been extremely mild my whole life. I think I had one bad hangover once and that was a long time ago and I will never do it again. I do enjoy wine with steak, or a really well made old fashioned as well. A slight buzz is also enjoyable. Everyone has their own thing. I don't drink so I can have an excuse to be a weirdo though that seems odd to me.
I'm fine with it too but I'll do what I can to make sure Bitcoin is the best programmable money ever and for that we need more op codes pure and simple
criticism of anyone and anything is protect by first amendment so I doubt this is going to go anywhere. lip service
But to answer your question specifically lol basically I have to "lock up" 5mil sats (but I never give custody) by opening a channel to the buyer. They see those 5mil sats as inbound so they can receive payments.
The way magma works is you basically put your offer out there, and shoppers that need inbound can choose you. After they choose you, you upload an invoice. The Amboss team then gives their own invoice to the buyer, they pay that invoice. Then you open the channel, once the channel is open Amboss then pays your invoice. They monitor the channel ID so you do not break the contract (for example going over a fee rate you promised not to, or closing the channel early). If you break your argreement you will get dinged on amboss reputation and people will less likely buy from you in the future. It's a fun way to get sats on the side if you're into lightning nodes.
My newest #lightningnetwork routing node is getting paid to open channels via amboss magma. Most recent lease is I provided 5mil sats of inbound in for 1280 sats per day for 30 days.
home denense Mossberg pump. if you want handgun I'm fond of Beretta 92fs or x. if you can handle a .45 that'll have better stopping power tho.
If new users of #nostr had the choose to zap in USD (through taproot assets protocol) would you all support that? You zap in sats, they see it at USD, because taproot assets has native in-protocol swaps. The sender sends whatever the sender wants, and the receiver receives whatever the receiver wants, all over lightning network payment rails.
Being too lazy to run your own lightning node isn't a lightning problem it's a you problem.

Testing basic knowledge sorta should set the bar to build on, no?
so its basically retarded. ai is such a scam
I don't know what everyone is so afraid of. Deepseek is woke as fuck.
The biggest danger to #bitcoin right now is that there is too much hashrate in the US, and the current administration seems to want even more. How can we get other countries to mine?
I'd love to build a peer to peer exchange rate index using data from robosats, bisq, hodl hodl. don't think they have apis though. I should look into it.
when will the actual value of Bitcoin separate from the IOU value
I'll keep it short and sweet. Family, religion, friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business. When opportunity knocks, you don't want to be driving to a maternity hospital or sitting in some phony baloney church. Or synagogue.
