Tiramisu. God. Bitcoin. Drivechain. In that order.

During the live stream, when i pointed out this might need a reputation system, he suggested the vendor would have to figure that out via another system.

This either creates work that never ends up being used ( imagine out of five, one Provider is chosen, wasting the efforts of the other four) or the Customer might end up paying for junk/fraud and have no refund mechanism.

Hi Matt, Happy Fourth.

As a thinking person i think you might like the challenge of reviewing and taking on the reasoning and logic of "American Scream" and r/cryptoreality, against bitcoin. His main Opus is titled "Bitcoin - Innovation or illusion ?" On youtube.

He gets a lot wrong and goes over well troden territory, conflates concepts and uses inprecise terms for other concepts within bitcoin. But a few things he gets "right" and are worth rebutting such as' the centralization of btc core commits, early whale collusion, mining conglomerates, state budgets for a 51%. He focuses too much on blockchain's failure as a panacea (maxi's already know this) and conflates other bad behaviors with bitcoin. I think he might be a payed disinformant because he argues in one video in favor of the state and that the internet was invented by the government and only exists because of the government, but then claims 5 companies own the infrastructure so we can have no expectation of freedom of speech. Weird. It's worth observing the way his mind works as an insight to other sophisticated challenges.

Your review of his work would make great content on par with your monero series, which you handled with tact and nobility. Haven't seen his level of attack since Taleb pulled a groin muscle on a lift and went cray cray.

So Enigma and Ark are different concepts. Enigma is the framework of the emergent behavior if you add Covenants to a network similar to how Lightning is the emergent behavior of adding channels to a network. As Submarine Swaps are to Lightning, Ark is to Enigma. So it doesn't really make sense to compare them in that manner. Nor does it make sense to call them vaporware. Enigma itself isnt even something for me to code, it's me talking to people who are already collaborating such as Lightning Service Providers and wallet developers and convincing them to integrate covenants into their systems. CTV is active on both Signet and Thunder (Drivechain network) already so it's accessible there. Sapio is a frontend for Bitcoin core to allow you to do it yourself. I also don't get this thing where we've started calling things vaporware after a week. It kinda degrades it, need to reserve that for things like duke.

Monero could potentially bootstrap CTV but it has a long road ahead. It currently can't even do Pre-Signed Transactions (PSBT's) yet, it needs a hard fork to do it.

I like to give monero the benefit of the doubt since it currently provides real utility that Bitcoin can't quite yet give. But that paper and article gives a good insight to the challenges of monero's premature optimization. I also think if you do add covenants, you'll have to ask yourself if you also want channels as they're similar in nature except one is deterministic and the other is indeterministic. I think the criticism of trying to onboard the entire population into a single indeterministic primitive is quite valid, hence my work, but I also think we've also lost the plot somewhere along the way. I like to nudge the BCH guys because their culture is "layer one" but due to their recent upgrades, they're now capable of both lightning and potentially Enigma, there's some limitations but the only thing holding them back now is a cultural limitation, if BTC were to fail, would we not migrate there and use the lightning network there? The BTC culture is overly reliant on Lightning but that's where i provide a counter narrative that's hopefully palatable for everyone

cashu and fedimint might kill monero value prop. It's easy, private, liquid

Cashu looks awesome , whats your critique ? Hope its an analysid beyond "custodial bad" ecash custody is more nuanced

Start getting porn performers creating and making money on it. Worked for the internet, video infrastructure. Not as risky as drugs which launched bitcoin.

Cashu. Send money as easy as a link. Real money, like gold backed money. Not everyone carried around gold, but everyone carried around money or promises based on it.

The "Just run your own BTC server" crowd underestimate the pleasurr principal it not even knowing how a mouse works. People have all the world info in their hand, yet watch tiktok.

😂👌

Is this for real ?

Hello calle, just listening to your WBD interview, half way through. Listened to the fedimint podcast yesterday and tried it out, but it was so much easier to use Cashu and it works on tor, which fedimint is struggling with. This is definitely the next big thing in bitcoin. It might kill Monero and its value proposition ! Please make it secure for real world money so i can start using it for projects :D

No way to make scammy money on this like with shitcoins or being early adopter (besides building useful projects) but it's exciting to be so early on this. This will make noster zaps soooo much easier to receive (no need for alby or wallet of shitoshi)

thanks for your work on this !

Prove you can do that, in a screen grab. Entanglement is primary to fedimints and chaum. You are saying they've been working on this for years only to un invent bitcoin scarcity.

I'm Not saying it's impossible, it sort of is re-inventing a fiat like middleman, what i am saying is there are many eyes on this and i would appreciate proof.

Show yourself redeeming tokens sent to your mint but intended for someone else.

In the docs Cashu is described as layer 2, but since it relies so heavily on LN, isn't it a layer 3 ?

It appears the Binker system does not have a way to reject keys in the future ? If a disgruntled employee leaves in the future they still have the ability to sign posts on behalf of the org?
