What happened this morning?

all my colleagues couldn’t sign in to their computers while mine was working normally.

I understand there was an outage, but what was effecting really how did my computer survive 😅

Imagine having thousands of endpoints and having to visit every single one of them to boot into a recovery environment and manually delete a file. That is the fix for this Windows / CrowdStrike BSOD issue. End users will not do this. This will be fixed by low level techs doing grunt work. It's going to be a long weekend for them in the trenches. I wish them all the best of luck and a cold beer when they get home.

I would likely dual boot until I found that I don't need windows. There are many programs for Linux that are just as good as windows versions. You can also emulate windows inside Linux to run programs.

I don't game on my computer, but have a friend who does on linux, so it is possible.

Maybe just load windows when you want to play games.

I was surprised how easy the change to Linux was. The first distribution I tried was Ubuntu

Work computer totally rekt. Force everyone to plug in their computers every night and force updates on them. You play with fire, you will get burned. Maybe they will reconsider such a foolish policy.
