Server disk is at 99.8% capacity, it sounds like a good moment to migrate to our new Blossom server.

Updating DNS records for cdn.zapstore.dev now.

Github and web indexing are paused until widespread propagation. It will be resumed by the new indexing software, probably tomorrow.

Guy, it's time for GrapheneOS + Zapstore πŸ˜‰

Thought I'd clarify, I am still the gatekeeper of relay.zapstore.dev and it's a small community so whitelisting goes fast, BUT:

My relay policy is one-time whitelisting, and immediate publishing vs big tech which takes hours or days or weeks for every release. Not to mention fees, a credit card, KYC, scanning your balls etc.

And Zapstore is fully built on nostr, as soon as we get relay management... there are effectively no more gatekeepers to the whole experience.

Favorites? First new feature of the new app

GM!

If you built an Android app and don't know how to publish to Zapstore, let me know.

It's easy and I can help you.

I'm building a new website where you'll be able to explore all available apps

Proton apps that are not there are very hard to index. If you can point me to versions and APKs for each one of those I can try again.

This kind of stuff will probably go in a future Zapstore Premium

Issues with the relay have been fixed. It should all be back to normal now.

πŸš€ zapstore-cli 0.2.0-rc1 released

Attention developers!

The biggest zapstore-cli release yet, with lots of improvements for publishing.

- Support for signing with nsec, NIP-07 in the CLI, NIP-46 bunkers, as well as sending unsigned events to stdout for use with nak or any other signer

- No longer depend on apktool (that annoyed so many Linux devs) or apksigner, no more shell calls

- Upload to configurable Blossom servers

- Simplified yet more powerful config file format

- Much smarter extracting metadata

- Overall way faster

Massive amount of work went into this. Finally releasing! But for that reason it's a release candidate, so please report bugs.

Upgrade now by running: zapstore install zapstore

Or get it at: https://zapstore.dev/download

Btw, you can install F-Droid apps from Obtainium

About automatic silent app updates:

Which OSS app store has them? In theory I see Obtainium and Accrescent do.

However with Obtainium I've always been prompted to Update. Sure, updates were downloaded in the background but user action was required.

Can't speak for Accrescent as I have not used it.

Also, in several code tests I could not make it work despite having the right permissions (UPDATE_PACKAGES_WITHOUT_USER_ACTION) and being Android 12+.

I would appreciate feedback on this issue as I'm not even sure it's possible.

LLMs sound promising but three hours interacting with Claude 3.7 Sonnet has produced nothing of value. Maybe I'm a simpleton who does not know how to prompt.

Fighting with language servers and build tools seems like a waste of life at this point.

I need help. If you know Kotlin and Flutter and want to help Zapstore out, let me know! We need to create a solid install APK plugin that actually works, and allows for auto updates. I will reward you with juicy sats.

Replying to 8f7a7549...

Hi,

we did it.

https://github.com/dezh-tech/ddsr/tree/main/zapoli

the Zapoli is a domain specific relay named after nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7qpq0r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7s85uvay for software application(NIP-82) by nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj76n9d3k8jenfwd5zumrpdejz7qpqhtdamfg82u4nj7zjqj82wnew7wke9vd2cp7r6nsaast5arxujc4qvd7sv5 .

it supports requested features in your note like:

- full-text search(NIP-50)

- management(NIP-86)

Additionally, a built-in blossom server can only be accessed(write) by whitelisted pub keys (developers) to publish their app images and binaries.

you can find the full setup documentation to run it in the above link.

feel free to ask any question or feature request 🀠

Woah! Very nice. I had no idea you were doing this.

It took you long to build? What is your golang skill level? I had a little more experience with khatru and not as convinced with it now.

Yes. Even though most people had no issues, some did

Very strange. Can you update to 0.2.4 again and from there, go to Settings and long press (hold finger on screen) over where it displays device, model name, host, etc? You should get a notification that an error report was sent

Added some apps this weekend:

Auxio, Openlib, Photoprism, PipePipe, Book Story, Arcticons, Popcorn Time and more.

These have all been requested by our users.
