I think there have been some proposals for making metadata a little bit less of a data leak. Like sending a message to a whole group of pubkeys but only one has the private key that can decrypt, so a passive observer can't tell who the real recipient was.

You must show unwavering devotion to their dogma or become the enemy. They're very sick totalitarian people.

If people can figure out how to do in such a way that facilitates some sort of no KYC dollar cost averaging then that would be truly game changer. The desire to do DCA is still a huge incentive to use exchanges at the moment.

Although at some point it's likely someone would be in violation of KYC/AML laws.

I don't know, I think long term the price will likely stabilize and behave a bit more like the price of gold (unless somehow demand truly is unbounded, if for instance the population continued to grow uninterrupted)

Agreed. The current options for no KYC bitcoin are difficult to trust, but as an open social network nostr creates possibilities for a reliable reputation system.

Even if the trade is discussed partially in the open it's not hard to conceal the important parts (amounts and addresses involved)

Interesting conversation with Doomberg on What Bitcoin Did where they mention this government initiative: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Choke_Point

Is it possible for something like this to happen to BTC exchanges?

If people had a stable asset to save in do you think we could see a large deflation in more speculative assets (like stocks) that people are somewhat compelled to invest in now? Or do you think there would be the same level of demand?

How do you get it to generate these?

I'm honestly not sure how exactly it would work, I just know other options for trading BTC peer to peer can be intimidating.

Maybe a dedicated relay or set of relays that exist solely to match buyers and sellers as well as provide escrow services (that could be another way of addressing the trust problem with purely P2P trades).

Would a peer to peer bitcoin exchange on nostr possibly work? I think one thing a lot of people struggle with when buying non-KYC BTC is trust, but nostr has the potential to support a robust reputation system that could help solve that.

Has she solved climate change yet? Why is it taking her so long?
