Any company, once it reaches a certain size, profitability or notoriety must donate to both political parties or face destruction by regulatory lawfare. Politicians won’t let someone be successful without getting their cut.

Licensing and patents increase monopolies through “regulatory capture.” Huge corporations that donate to the political class ensure there are so many regulations that average people can’t compete. A free market economy, without too many regulations would allow workers to compete with employers instead of being beholden to them.

Robots and supporting equipment require maintenance and repair. Bring back trade schools and elevate the workforce. It is nearly impossible to find a qualified technician under 50 years old. Factories across the country are severely understaffed. Instead of a bunch of uneducated workers earning low wages we would have an educated workforce earning higher wages with more efficient production.

Ok, I have extensive experience in automation. I’ve been an assembly line mechanic since the 90’s. I work with robots, automation control. I even do programming adjustments for engineers when they screw things up 😂

Me and the company I work for pay taxes on my income. We all pay property taxes. The company pays corporate income tax and property tax on the equipment. The company pays sales tax on the goods it sells. Sales tax is paid on the goods used for production.

What other taxes would you like us to pay?

So far, my only connection to Noster has been Damus on an iPhone. I bought a start nine server and I have lightning node running. I need to learn how to integrate a wallet and set up channels still.

I too have been thinking about a list of books which I could put together to help people understand what’s happening in the global economy and bitcoin better. Here’s what I came up with.

1. Basic economics by Thomas Sowell.

This is an easy read with no math. Even someone with education/ experience in financial markets may be missing a competent understanding of the fundamentals. I think it was Milton Freeman that said “ everything we KNOW about economics is taught in 101. Everything else is just speculation.”

2 and/or 3. The Creature from Jekyll Island by G Edward Griffin, and/or Broken Money by Lynn Alden.

The choice would depend on the age and open-mindedness of the person you’re trying to teach. If she already understands that the dollars she holds in her hands are less tangible than bitcoin I would skip straight to Broken Money.

Finally, I would have her read The Bitcoin Standard.

Step one is to give a basic understanding, and knowledge of how economics affects us all, every day of our lives. The second and third books describe what’s wrong with the current monetary system. The bitcoin standard explains how to fix things.

The longer you hunt; you will probably find that your attitude and behavior will evolve. There are six distinct stages of hunter development. You may not pass through each of these stages and you may not progress through them in this exact order.

Shooting Stage

The impulse here is to get off a shot quickly, usually at the first animal that appears. This eagerness can lead to bad decisions:

the wrong animal being chosen,

a poor shot being taken that wounds the animal or

even a shot that endangers others.

Target practice, good mentoring and more experience will lead most hunters out of this stage quickly.

Limiting Out Stage

This hunter wants to always bag the limit. This may cause a hunter to take unsafe shots or misidentify targets in the zeal to limit out. More experience and hunting with mature hunters will lead hunters out of this stage.

Trophy Stage

Success is judged by quality, not quantity. The hunter is very selective and will pass on many opportunities that do not match the desired trophy characteristics. Many trophy hunters focus on big game. The hunter’s patience and commitment must be highly evolved.

Method Stage

Here, the process and challenge of hunting becomes the primary focus of the hunter. A more challenging method, such as using a bow, muzzleloader, or handgun may be chosen. The hunter may choose to stalk or still hunt, rather than sit in a stand next to a feeder.

Sportsman Stage

The total experience of the hunt is what is important to the sportsman:

What animal is being hunted,

How it is being hunted,

The immersion into nature and the companionship of who you are hunting with,

all combine into creating a more sophisticated appreciation of the hunt.

Give-Back” Stage

At this point the hunter is motivated by the desire to pass on the proper hunting values, safety skills and responsible attitudes to others. They want to preserve our hunting heritage by introducing new hunters to the sport in the most rewarding manner. The hunter may choose to join a conservation organization that improves habitat through wildlife management and promotes hunting.

Hey nostr:npub1f6ugxyxkknket3kkdgu4k0fu74vmshawermkj8d06sz6jts9t4kslazcka any privacy tips when traveling internationally?

- encrypt laptop and turn off while traveling

- turn off biometrics on phone and only code unlock.

What else am I missing?

I saw a sign recently on a layover in DFW that stated that ICE was taking facial recognition photos from a hidden camera on the jetway and one had to opt out by contacting them. Do you opt out or get on a list? Seriously, IDK.

Yes, bitcoin supply has increased by 1.5% since the last having. I feel your numbers are pretty much in line with that. ATH Would probably be closer to $85K or $86K if all the bitcoin had already been distributed.

Yes, all this hype about matching a previous ATH and no one is factoring in inflation. Even at $69K sats are at a 20% discount compared to the last time they were at the same price due to the weaker dollar.

Yes, I do have rabbits. The good news is that we welcomed two healthy litters about eight weeks ago, giving me a total of 15 rabbits.

The good/bad news is I sold all the babies in a week. Didn’t even have to process any. I only got about one cubic yard of good manure/hay for compost and that went in the strawberry beds.

Trying something new this year. I put in a winter cover, crop of daikon, radishes, and Austrian winter peas. Yesterday I let the chickens go in the garden to kill off the winter, cover crop and turn anything they eat into manure. Once the chickens come out, the garden will have 30 to 45 days to rest and then I’ll transplant my starts and do my direct sewing. What do you think of this idea?

Kind of, it was the underside of the animal, but it was not the belly flap meat that is commonly used for bacon. The picture you’re asking about is a layer of fat located between the skin and muscle.

There were three people. Paul, the butcher, his wife and a friend. One of the best parts was after we hoisted the pig off the ground, Paul’s wife was so excited to eat salo that she picked a piece right off the pig and popped it in her mouth 😋

What an amazing day! I sold one of my pigs to an old Ukrainian butcher. With the understanding that he would process the pig at my place. I learned so much. WARNING BUTCHERING PICTURES!

The kill shot was the normal headshot with a .22, but instead of cutting the throat he pulled out a boot knife and stabbed it in the heart. Spot on, the first try, blood pumping straight out of the single wound.

Then he placed the dispatched pig on a piece of metal roof, everything from here on out was “clean.”

He used a weed torch to burn the hair off, used a homemade tool to perforate the skin and continued to torch until the holes began to bubble.

At this point he began alternating pouring water on the pig and tourching until the skin started to crack.

At that point they used scrub brushes to remove the “tar.”

Next he rolled the animal on its back and made cuts from its throat to the groin and took off a beautiful piece of fatty meat.

He separated the intestinal sack by hand and pulled the whole thing out in one piece.

Oh! Because he stabbed it in the heart, there was no blood except for in the thoracic cavity. Which was scooped out with an old coffee mug. It was very important to wash the animal several times during the scorching process and no blood was allowed to touch the meat.

I had to leave before they broke the animal down the rest of the way. Basically it was freezer ready by the time they left.

The best part was that I got to try “salo.” Salted, raw pig fat. They called it “Ukrainian sashimi.” Firm texture, a little chewy with a hint of smoke from the scorching process.

I’m so grateful that I get to live this life, meet people like this and learn new things.
