Nope. You're the first Nostrich to populate that area. Time to provide the content you want.

GM #nostr - had a minor boating accident this morning 🌄 😳

So my girl has a permanent mooring that belongs to me, a swing mooring. It's a great spot for her to sit.

On one side, closest the beach, there's a gravel path that you can follow down to her without getting too sandy/muddy.

On the far side of the mooring there's no gravel path, just mud. Deep black horrible mud. At some points it's a foot deep, at others 3ft. Who knows which bits which, it gets covered over every tide and it's pure guesswork.

So, this morning, there being an east wind, she landed in the deep shit stuff, about 15ft out from the safety of the mooring block.

It's also a bit stormy.

So, anyway, the scene being set, we'll begin the adventure. I claimed out, across the cabin, saw the state of things and prepped myself. I climbed down, squelching into the shit stuff, only shin deep so far, no drama.

I grabbed my bag and turned but the mud had caught my foot. I pulled and my foot came loose, minus my waders boot. As I spun back to put my foot right, I fell, into the mud!

Not to worry, thought I. I got my shit together and made my way to shore. Upon checking my pockets I realised my laser etched metal wallet containing my most valuable private keys was missing and it suddenly struck me; I'd caught a glimmer in my eye back by the boat...

It fell out, as I was struggling to free myself. I walked back down, but there was no sign of it, the mud had claimed it for itself.

And so, yet again I must start from scratch, knowing my wallet is buried forever, somewhere beneath my boat 😫😮😢

One day I'll be able to save some sats, I hope...

I'd like some design feedback on Alexandria.

I'm working on an article editor feature. A screenshot of an early draft is below. The overall goal is to be able to type AsciiDoc-formatted text, preview it in rich text form as it would appear in the Alexandria reader view, then publish it as a cluster of kind 30040 and 30041 events.

My thinking is to break the content down into sections. The content of each section will be published as a kind 30041 note. Each section will be indexed by a kind 30040 note, which will reference the content of the section as a kind 30041 and any subsections as 30040 notes.

Question: How would you like to preview your published events?

I see two options:

1. There are two preview steps: one is a "quick preview" you can see with a click while editing. It doesn't break the content down into 30040 and 30041 events, but it shows you what the nicely-formatted AsciiDoc content would look like. The second preview steps shows the content as it would appear in reader view, after it's been broken down into its constituent 30040 and 30041 events. This preview would have a confirmation dialogue that lets you approve or cancel publishing the events.

2. There's just one preview, and clicking the preview button while editing shows you the content as it would appear in reader view, broken down into 30040 and 30041 events. There would be no separate screen with a confirmation dialogue, and a publish button on the editor page would publish the events.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts!

I prefer option 2.

Critical thinking. It used to be part of K-12 education, and was removed.

I wasted months with D-Central. Their customer service is some of the worst I've experienced; and I spent several months in Russia!

Uuuuuuuuuugh...

Given a tangential bit if inspiration from nostr:nprofile1qqst8tznun44qc4h7d68ucl7w0n8z96d4urxvrhhrhrj5uwfw8ka3ycpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wdmksetjv5hxxmmd9udryvjr and Beth (whom I can't tag right now because of that annoying bitcoin symbol in her nym), I decided to be a complete idiot and do 100 kettlebell swings with the one kettlebell I currently have: a 40 pounder. (~18kg for the godless Heathens.)

Have I ever done this before?

No.

Isn't that a bit batty?

Yes.

Was it hard?

Very.

But did you die?

Not yet.

I'm gonna feel this tomorrow, for sure. Ugh.

Oh. Yeah. This was after my 2.75mi walk.

Arnica and comfry are your friends. Notice any muscles you forgot you had?

Pulling some advanced maneuvers, eh?

Yeah, but he's not too bright. My jokes would be wasted on this one.
