We are not meant to be lone wolves by any stretch. Most people have empathy and do not approach relationships from a purely transactional perspective. If people received UBI and universal healthcare, then no one would care if AI made their livelihoods obsolete. Not working is only hardship because people cannot feed or house themselves without income.

In the future when average people enjoy the luxuries of today's elites, what will happen? Will they all be satisfied and living leisurely lives?

No. They will come up with something new to want.
