Look it up (I’d try to find but late, beer and whisky are quite frankly impaired to say the least), it’s fascinating. They used certain mortar ingredients which essentially self heal. Maybe it’s cause am geologist that I find it interesting but something to do with the type of calcium based compounds they used means that any cracks self healed and got actually stronger over time. Then have fun with the rabbit hole of steel reinforced concrete and rust and 70 year lifespan etc etc etc and oh err yeah…. Progress!!

So yeah, timing off by errrrr quite a lot but have you seen the research on cement mix and how Roman cement was effectively self healing and we can’t do as well now? That’s pretty cool shit

A coworker of mine has told me she wants to make a not-small allocation of her savings to Bitcoin. These will be her first sats, and she has asked for my advice and guidance to get started.

I can help walk her through all the technicals, along with choices around acquisition, storage, custody, privacy, etc.

Since she isn’t just “dabbling”, I feel a greater sense of responsibility to guide her well, and provide the right resources.

I’m looking for recommendations for:

• Articles/podcasts to help a beginner understand Bitcoin. Written form would be ideal here.

• General tutorials - more like “here’s an overview of how private keys and nodes work”, rather than specific tutorials in using particular applications or wallets.

• introduction to Bitcoin theory, to provide context, but a “mellow” exposure and not the more intense revolutionary stuff

• any other words of wisdom, experiences you’ve had, or things to avoid.

This is a first for me and I’d love to do it work.

i get the feeling the old patterns (models) are out the window now. if we are still early and institutions, companies (tradfi), central banks, governments and most retailers are yet to get in then it could just pump for however long it takes for these people to get in. how long is that? 18 months was the old model of a bull run length. is that 5 years now? Have to wait and see but all I know is if BTC is the hardest asset in town and everyone will want to try to escape the crumbling old system.

I think the only thing that could stop this would be a black swan like a power or widespread cell network outage or other signif terrible situation. Its a election year and a power struggle between old world power structures to a large degree and new ie Biden vs Trump.

But now I'm getting into speculative territory which is when I pull out the "stay humble and stack sats". #bitcoin

I still haven’t passed this kidney stone and it hurts like a bitch right now, but I am so psyched to have nostr and this latest pump as a distraction. The pleb motto ‘round these parts is “1 BTC=1 BTC” and “don’t look at the price”, but I’m still in pleb school and didn’t sign that contract yet, sooo 👀. My husband has been stacking and HODLing for a lonnnng time and I am just so proud of his ability to learn and stay dedicated. Then I think about all of you, who have probably been doing the same thing and get super excited for y’all. Again, I applaud you who do not look at the charts, but it’s a nice visual to say, “I told you so” without actually saying, “I told you so” 😂

That being said, I hope every one of you gets rich as fuck and make a better society for generations to come.
