Workaround : Use the open source AnySoftKeyboard until this bug is fixed (if it's fixable and not have to be addressed upstream):

A workaround for the extremely annoying backspace removes whitespace between words in Amethyst ( #[1] ) and Nostros ( #[2] ) has been found:
